2011 lineup?

Planet Stories®

So it appears we have Hok the Mighty pushed back to Feb '11, and then a pair of Silverberg volumes - Hunt the Space-Witch and The Planet Killers. Any news on what's up after that - one more Silverberg sometime, I assume - in the second half of 2011?

Our next announcements are slated for February. Stay tuned!

I should probably also mention that we've wrapped up production on Battle in the Dawn and it's going to the printer this week. I loved Who Fears the Devil?, so I was fascinated to see what Wellman would do in a completely different area. Really fun and adventurous stuff!

Thanks for that update - Hok the Mighty sounds fantastic.

I still wish to point out that I enjoy Planet Stories and want them to continue. The last two I received were sent in July and October 2010. The next two are scheduled in February and May 2011. Has Planet Stories moved to a quarterly schedule or slower? I am very excited about the next three apparent offerings. A Wellman and 2 Silverbergs. I would just like to have received one in December, one next month and one in April (ignoring my prayers to go back to a monthly schedule).

To be frank, Planet Stories is Paizo's least popular ongoing line, and so it takes a back burner to everything else we do. It's still nominally bimonthly, though.

Least popular line or not, I hope it stays around for a long, long time. Count me as a big fan of Planet Stories.

Liberty's Edge

I also enjoy the Planet Stories line, but I don't read them as fast as they arrive. In the past when they had been coming out about every other month I was getting way behind.

This recent slow down has not been a problem for me. It has actually kept me subscribing to the line.

This line is what sparked my recent binge into the masters of scifi and fantasy. Aside from one book, this has been a great series. I hope it it continues.

I really love the line also. The titles frequently bubble up to the top of my giant stack of books to read. I just finished Robots Have no Tails this week and loved it.

I don't always get all of the titles, since several I already have owned, but the rest I either have or have on my wishlist.

They've also inspired me to buy up other books by these authors when I run across them at used book stores. I hope to see Planet Stories around for a long time.

People don't know what they're missing!

I'm very excited for the Hok/Wellman, not exactly sure what to expect re the Silverberg, and very curious to hear what's upcoming.

By the way, we recently received a few advance copies of Battle in the Dawn and it looks awesome. :-) I think Wellman fans will be pleased.

Meanwhile, we're working on Robert Silverberg's Hunt the Space-Witch!, which I think is a terrific collection of his early stories that Planet Stories fans are going to love.

So ... does that mean it's at risk?

After all, you guys are way busy ...

Yeah... I'm a little worried as well. There is only one item listed as upcoming. I've rather enjoyed the series. It's taken me on a journey through the masters of spec-fic. After reading some of the earlier books, I picked up some classics on my own. It's been great getting to know these "forgotten" masters. Hopefully, the series has a bit of a resurgence.

We're about to announce the next two books in the line (sorry, I was a little late in my estimate above about that). Stay tuned!

We're also wrapping up our final week of production on Robert Silverberg's Hunt the Space-Witch! so we'll be posting the (awesome!) final cover art soon.

Sweet! Looking forward to it.

I've loved every Planet Stories book I've received so far. The only thing I don't like is how many I missed before I subscribed...hard to balance all these great books with other, less necessary purchases (food, rent, that kind of silly thing). I'm just as excited about whatever comes out next as I am about filling out all the books I've missed!

That's an excellent opportunity to remind people that Planet Stories subscribers are able to pick up previous books in the line at 15% off the cover price!

Just want to give a shout out for the Silverberg and Wellman. I love the work you've done here and I can't thank you enough for bringing this work back into print.
