I hear what you're saying, but you have to understand it's been a shockingly effective strategy for us in the past.

That's BRILLIANT V! Completely gross but brilliant! ;)

Helga, I think you have part of Durkon with you that would work better than spit

I surmise that the baby is an individual by himself and thus not part of Durkon's body

I wonder how Durkula will react to being scried upon

And what Durkon will do to protect his child from Durkula. Maybe all these family memories will play a deeper role after all

1109: Spy Bowl

Not quite the same as bowl of spies though....

I like the "nice bowl of Anarchic Water". Seems like Loki is actually CN here.

I also like Belkar's Best Practices for Tracking. Quite in line with the character :-D

I wonder why they refer to the old banquet hall in the past tense. Did something happen there that Durkon managed to hide from Durkula ?

In the end, that other method worked too. "Hello, Roy" :-P

The other method is generally how these things roll. ;)

Railroading is so much easier when players take it for granted :-D

The Perfect Strategy

I literally laughed out loud at the final panel.

I 100% agree on that last panel there.

So true.

Does this mean Kudzu is non-lawful?

It seems like he takes after his father in his passion for turn Undead.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Mage,

I'm pretty sure Groo*cough*Kudzu isn't old enough to cast spells.

Yeah that was not only so Elan on that final panel, it's true for the entirety of the group.

Though my opinion may change in subsequent rereadings, I think that last panel is my new favorite Elan quote of all time.

Spectacular.

We already know Kudzu's alignment: Kudzu's alignment is TBD.

We also know all of Kudzu's other stats:

The Giant wrote:

Here are the stats you actually need for a hatchling dragon:

Movement: Gets away if you let it.
Saving Throws: Miraculously survives all accidents.
Armor Class: You hit.
Hit Points: Congratulations, Baby-Killer.
Special Qualities: I hope you can live with yourself.

Coincidentally, these are the same exact stats for every other species of baby.

I didn't see that coming.

"I was worried there for a minute"

This means Durkula is afraid of Hilgya. He's just too occupied and superior to the lower ones that he isn't listening.

Do you think Durkon will catch on?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Mage,

No but again not 100% sure if Durkula KNOWS how powerful Hilgya has become.

Silver Crusade

6 people marked this as a favorite.

I doubt if he would think of Hilgya specifically. It was just the idea that they may have a higher level cleric to worry about, whoever it may be.

Liberty's Edge

Durkula is definitely not thinking of Hilgya here. Else he would not dismiss her description so quickly ;-)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I imagine Durkon's encounter with Hilgya isn't filed under "happy memories" when taken as a whole. It wouldn't surprise me that Durkula doesn't know about her because he's hasn't looked in the right place in Durkon's mind.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Andostre,

That would be my guess as well. But I do think any high level cleric WOULD concern him.

3 people marked this as a favorite.

Given that Hilgya occupies a vey small part of Durkon's memories, and not a part Durkon would go out of his way to show, its probable that Durkula doesn't even know about Hilgya. He was probably worried one of the clerics at the godsmoot figured out a loophole or something.

Durkon's intentionally keeping Durkula from looking too deeply at his memories with reverse psychology. There's something he's hiding that he doesn't want Durkula to find out.

Poncho ? Heading somewhere cold and North and close to Team X ?

I took it more that whatever the woman's host had it mind, it would be so gory that he'd want a poncho, like sitting in the front row of a Ghallager show.

And, it appears to be working.

Hey, look: it's in-depth character exposition.

They're walking somewhere instead of standing around, so I guess that's moving the plot forward.

My worry (such as it is) stem from her relatively selfless concern with saving her fellow dwarves from “honor” - a very non-selfish proposition. Her concern with others seems to belie her selfish reasons... but maybe not! Anyway! We may well see...

Yeah, but the more she converts, the more it pleases Loki, so the more she'll be rewarded! Pretty selfish!

Oh, wait. She's a mom, now. You gotta be pretty selfless to be a mom. That kid is going to send her to Hel....
