This has been my experience so far as well. It does open up greater possibilities for sorcerers in that they could potentially learn words of power from other classes, as per the "learning spells from unusual sources" rule that has always existed and never been utilized.

I am curious to see how Gish characters will work out with this system. If all you want to be is a fighter with the ability to fry things at range when stuff is not next to you then the WoP system seems like it might be perfect for that.
