As extraplanar spaces do not exist in any dimension and suppress other extraplanar spaces within them (p501) - is it possible to use extraplanar travel to get out of them? Such as using dimension door to get out of a Create Pit spell?

If the extraplanar space has an opening or boundary to the material plane, as the effect of create pit does, I think it should work. If it becomes relevant, the travel spell would have to go to the opening before continuing to a point in normal space, so the caster couldn't measure distance, for example, through the side of the pit.
