There was a Player's Guide (PDF only?). It assumed that the starting characters were from Sasserine and so provided a lot of information (some maybe more DM's eyes only) about Sasserine and maybe some factions there.
There were also PDFs covering the first four adventures, and giving suggestions for running them in the Forgotten Realms and Eberron.
Perhaps I'm off my rocker...but wasn't there a DM's guide that gave a brief overview of all of the adventures at one point? I can't seem to find it.
You are not off your rocker. It was in an issue of Dragon magazine. Don't recall the number offhand, but I'll bet it was the issue that coincided with the first installment of the AP in Dungeon.
From memory wasn't it a bit inaccurate when it came to the later adventures though? Probably a hazard of writing up a summary before the adventure manuscripts have been finalised.
I haven't got the article in front of me, I've just got this vague recollection of it mentioning an assault on a retriever factory which never appeared in the actual AP.

Hmmm, that sounded amazing so I dug out my copy and had a read. It's actually pretty accurate, with only a few changes springing out.
That's almost it, apart from some adventures written with a different emphasis than they ended up having. No Retriever factory though - where's the Retriever factory? I REALLY want to put a Retriever factory in my game now! :-)
