Dang, I just hit my second star the other night. It really is slow going playing only once a week here.

I'm curious as to how many gms are at each level now.

Don't be discouraged. I applaud anyone who works at it to get even a single star. It's hard work to be a GM. Remember that regardless of the number of stars behind your name, players having fun at your table is the real reward. The stars are just a way for uber gamer-geeks to explore our personal need for acceptance. We are a shallow lot after all ;-). It really helps to GM at conventions where you can pick up quite a few extra sessions in just a couple of days while stealing good ideas from fellow GM's. Despite having played D&D since the late 70's, I have learned a lot from playing at, or observing tables being run by the Shakletons, DougDoug, Kyle, Thea, Zizazat, and others). I hope to see the talents of some more of the recognized names and VC's out there.

Yet another list I didn't make. :(

*blush* I guess with the 3 of us, there is a range in GM styles... with the Shadow Shackleton at the bottom of the range - or lower right square in the alignment grid :)

TorbinWren, you just need to get out to some cons to rack up those stars.... are you sure that you can't make GryphCon? ;)

Torbin is the co-ordinator of Society play at my FLGS, and the GM for the Serpent's Skull game I'm playing in. Pretty sure he will rack up the stars in no time.

There are currently only two or three four star or higher GMs, and this is after three seasons (years) of organised play! If you "only" GM once a week, I must say you're putting in a pretty solid effort - you'll be half-way to your fourth star after your first year, which is pretty much on track I'd think.

We've all put in the hard yards, and with a few notable exceptions (Hi Doug!) are still on the journey to four stars. So don't fret, wherever you are on this journey - GMing your first few sessions among friends, or breaking 100 at your next convention, it will take as long as required. I consider myself in good company ;-)

Cheers,
DarkWhite

+1

Bobbob = Lamelame

(Un)fortunately for me, I actually have a life outside of RPGs and won't be hitting 4 stars until MAYBE the last slot of Who's Yer Con. :-)

And with any luck, Todd will release Bob at every given opportunity! :-)

Ooooh, another idea. Doug, Thea, and I should that slot off and play at his table for his 100th game. Doug can play wimplo (sp?), and we can all get TPK'd! What better way to ring in your 4th star than TPK the party?!

Yeah .. good idea, but I want to put another game under my belt towards my star lol :P tho it would be interesting to play with Doug and Kyle as I haven't played *with* them, just against them lol

I like where you're going with this. A no-holds-bar game. But I would want to run something a bit more deadly that City of Strangers...of course the BBEG can be interesting, and then there is Miss Feathers, Hmmmmm...

I'd say Rebel's Ransom, but (1) Kyle has already run it and (2) when asked if he would play it, I think his response was "Hell No"

Thea's run it too. Doug's played it, but got 0 XP. (stupid GM!)
