Reporting PreGens

Do I ignore PreGen PCs when I report an event?

Shortly before GenCon I ran a couple Scenarios with 3 of my regulars and 3 newbies (who played Lvl 7 PreGens because that was the closest level for us).

When I report do I just put down the 3 regular Society PCs, my PC (for DM credit) and ignore the fact that 3 other Players ran PreGens? Or do I include them somehow?

You are correct. If the players use pre-gens above 1st level, then they are playing for no credit, should not receive a Chronicle and should not be reported.

Is there no way to capture it if they push the table size to the point you have to bump the APL up one, then? Or are you supposed to feed pregens of a lower level so that the pushed APL is equal to the APL of the 'real' characters?

I hope that came out coherently.

LOL, I am afraid I don't follow your question. Pre-gen levels count toward computing the APL of the table, which then decides the sub-tier played. I think everyone agrees that the pre-gens are not optimized very well, but it's already been decided that they cannot be modified by the player. Can you re-phrase your question?

I think Doug she is trying to see if it is legal to manipulate the use of the pregens to bump or lower the APL of a able.

When you add pregens to a game their level should mach the natural tier of the game.

E.g.1) if you have 4 "real" PCs of level 1 and two players join the game with pregens, the pregens should be 1st lvl since the "natural" APL would be 2 and the game thus tier 1-2.

E.g.2) if you have 4 "real" PCs of level 2 and two players join the game with pregens, the pregens should be 4th lvl since the "natural" APL would be 4(16/6 + 1) and the game thus tier 3-4.

EDIT:
Josh at one time stated that playing up should only be permitted if it is the only way a player can join a table. It should never be left to the players' discretion.

I.e. if you have 4 "real" PCs of level 1 and two players join the game with pregens, the pregens should not be 4th lvl since the new APL would be bumped to 3(12/6 +1 ) and the game thus forced to tier 3-4. Which is unnecesary according to e.g. 1.
