Duskblade spell question: Bigbys tripping Hand, help?

3.5/d20/OGL

so am I reading this correctly? does it get the level +2+the duskblades int to attempt to grapple but the grapple mod is only +1-+5?
For example a 12th level duskblade with a 20 int casts it... so its (12+5+2)=+19 to touch and +4 to grapple? or am I misreading it and its +19 to touch and +23 to grapple? If so that seems very strong for a level 1 spell... Just curious. Thanks

It will be +19 on the touch attack, and then +23 on the trip attempt.

It's not that strong, since the opponent also gets Spell Resistance, and a Reflex save, before the trip attempt.

Actually its +19 touch attack (CL 12+ Int +5 + spell's Str +2) and +6 trip attempt (Spell's Str +2 + 1/3 CL +4). You don't add BAB to trip attempts, not in 3.5 anyway.

Ah, see I didn't see that it gave a reflex save, and my player (who is known for misquoting and such...) never mentioned a save so I never used gave them a save, now that I know about the save, I won't be fooled again :P
