Because I want to take only caster levels in my EK build, so now I do not have to lower my caster to a level as a "warrior".......
Plus I want the Prestidigiation, mage hand orisons....
and I want color spray, grease and a few other goodies denied my witch.......spell lists be damned!
So you understand the consequences. Why ask us. You know you will just get questions like mine asking why you aren't optimizing more :)
I would go 2 levels to pick up spell combat. Any spells on your witch's list also on the Magus's you can cast with spell combat, and at higher levels you wont really care about the -4 or concentration check for minor buffs. Haste for free while still full attacking is what the class is about.

You're still lowering your caster level. You're a witch 15/magus 1, not a witch 16.
I do think builds with 6 or 7 levels of magus multi-classing elsewhere could be good. Hell, duskblade 13/magus 7 seems really, really good to me for games that allow 3.5 material.
BAB: +18
HP: 107 + Con on average
13x 1st-level spells per day before any sort of Intelligence bonuses
11x 2nd-level ...
7x 3rd-level ...
2x 4th-level ...
All spells channel-able using either arcane channeling or spellstrike, and no arcane spell failure wearing mithral fullplate (and the duskblade's heavy proficiency makes it a fine choice)
Intelligence-based caster for all spells
Healthy mix of prepared and spontaneous
And most importantly:
Quick cast 2/day PLUS spell combat means you can full attack arcane channel, casting an off-hand spell and quick casting a spell

The way I see it the big draw for the witch is the hexes not the spell list. The DC for your hexes is based on the witch class level not casterlevel. You cackle to maintain misfortune while using spell combat.
Seems like Wizard/ Magus would be the better bet, then you could pick up spell combat, albeit with a pretty hefty penalty but you could probably make it work.
