Do you think we will ever see a"Crime and Punishment in Golarion"?

Liberty's Edge

Hope so. One of my PCs is a Taldan ex-con, and the only real specifics I've found on prisons is the one in Cassomir - a little too cushy for his backstory. I got real excited reading a blurb about a prison in Sargava, thinking it might be Cheliax's equivalent of Devil's Island, only to discover it wasn't exactly... current. Would love to fill out his backstory more fully, though. Anyone run into other info on Golarion's criminal and judicial flavor, apart from the bits in the Cheliax book?

Let's try this again since my internet connection died.

Are you looking for a book like the one Atlas Games did back in 2003-2004 called Crime & Punishment that was done for 3.5? Being the great book it is, it is fairly generic and would be easy to adapt to Pathfinder and Golarion itself.

There's an interesting prison in "Dark Markets of Katapesh" which is essentially a palatial estate that the local authorities confiscated and imprisoned the owner in.

Used for an initial scene in one of my campaigns.

I would love to see a book like this.

However, I am unsure if there is a market for a relatively 'niche' product such as this. I guess it would appeal to those gamers interested in the inner workings of Golarion, so to speak ... but if that would be enough to make a book such as this viable? Highly doubtful.

Maybe if all the subjects of interest to the 'simulationist' (for lack of a better word) gamers out there were gathered in one book? E.g. things like trade and trade routes, weather patterns, politics, crime and punishment, and so on.

(Still, I don't think this will ever see the light of day ;-) seeing how Paizo's schedule has already been filled for the next few years in advance.)

I'll check that out, thanks. After posting it occurred to me there's one mentioned in the Puddles district of Absalom (with a pretty cool sidebar about a Death Race 2000-esque running of the bulls kinda thing).

This doesn't necessarily have to be niche; I think information of this sort might serve rogue characters well. As many players as I've seen make thieving scoundrels many of them seem to discount the possibility of being capture/having spent time in jail. Being Golarion-specific, though, I doubt it'd find a place in any PFRG Rogue splatbook kinda format. Maybe some info will make its way into later Companion or Chronicles text. *hopes*
