Dubuqe, Iowa (Checking on Interest)

Local Play

I was thinking of starting up some type of monthly or bi-monthly PFS event in Dubuque, Iowa and was wondering if there was interest both in playing and in GMing.

So if interested please post and if there is interest then I will get it started.

Thanks

If you don't find a huge gathering in Dubuque, feel free to come to Iowa -- Go to Sign up stuffs

Every third Saturday of the month -- we try to offer one higher level mod and a 1-5/1-7 mod the first slot and then a 1-5/1-7 the second.. Games start at noon

You probably mean Iowa City? I mean, since Dubuque is already in Iowa and everything :P

Dubuque is named after Julian Dubuque a french Canadian who received rights to mine for lead in the area from the Meskwaki Indians.

It sits along the Mississippi River and has bridges connecting it to both Wisconsin and Illinois.

It is a historical town with many historical features such as the 4th street elevator which is the shortest and steppest railway in the world, it is actually a funicular railway. It has one of the few civil war shot towers still in existence which was used during the civil war to make shot.

It also is the location of the Mississippi river museum and aquarium.

I know several of my friends who would be interested and have heard that there is a large population of gamers in and around Dubuque so I figured I would check here to see if there was any interest in a PFS event.

I live in Dickeyville, Wisconsin but play Pathfinder games weekly with two small groups in Dubuque--one on Wednesday evenings and the other on Saturday afternoons.

I would be interested in playing in a PFS event. It would be the first time for me.

I understood what you meant... Iowa (as in the school) I'm also in Dubuque and wouldn't mind giving the PFS a try, I'm in a regular game on tuesdays. I also run a small Kingmaker game on the side.

I'm looking to get back into PFS, and I recently moved to Dubuque. I didn't find any regular PFS games at Comic World (or even board games). Where is all the PFS going on?

Please drop me a line if you have info about gaming in Dubuque.

Thanks!

Welcome to Iowa (if you weren't here already)Not sure what the PFS situation in Dubuque is like, however, the offer is still open to come to Iowa city and game... Sign up stuffs is our warhorn sign up page.

The game store has expanded their hours to open at 10am so this means we can relax a bit more and take our time gaming instead of working with a 6 hour timelimit.

Come and have fun :)

I need more western Iowans so I can convince them to come to Omaha :P

Hey guys, Omaha has 2 conventions where you can get a good amount of PFS in coming up in the next 6 months if you want to make the trip.

Contagion is the 2nd weekend of June (same weekend as PaizoCon)

Nuke-Con is the big area (Omaha Area) convention the first weekend of October.

We'd be glad to have any of you there.

I'll likely be moving to Iowa in the fall. I wonder if there's any PFS nearer to Ames, Iowa City seems a bit far away (140 miles)

Hey all! Just wondering if any interest still exists for a PFS grp in Dubuque? I am a pretty long term vet(10+ years) of GMing and want to start a 1-2 table event in the Dubuque area. I'll be talking to local gaming store Comic World to see if they'll be a store liaison.

Myself and two others are interested in starting a Pathfinder campaign. We live in Dubuque, Iowa, and we'd happy to add more players; though we're all new to the game and haven't started the first game yet. My brother is still shopping for a good table to play on. We tried 4E and decided to switch. Anyone interested in joining us can send me a private message. I have a lot of DM experience from "back in the day" but will be somewhat rusty - I have, however, purchased a lot of the source material, including Pathfinder tales, and am currently in the process of learning the setting, rules, etc. I have coming in the mail packs for all the cardboard figures for all 4 bestiaries, maps, card packs etc. to enhance the gaming experience.

I will also consider joining in on another group that's already playing in the local area.

I also am interseted in starting PFS play in Dubuque. I was planning on talking to Comic World about starting weekly game play. We have recently started weekly PFS in Platteville WI at UWP but are slaved to class schedules and are currently in winter break https://www.warhorn.net/events/platteville-wi-uwp-pfs. We are planning on 20 tables of PFS play at Plattecon 6-8 March. Sign up is open on warhorn https://www.warhorn.net/events/plattecon

I am very interested in supporting any PFS gaming interest in Dubuque.

Just an update for any interested players searching the boards:

Guy has been organizing (and GMing, most of the time) PFS games at least bi-weekly at Comic World & Games. I have played both Core and Classic with our merry band of Pathfinders, and it has been great. Come join in the fun!
