Western Massachusetts players

Gamer Connection

Greetings,

Looking for players in western Massachusetts. I am located in west Springfield, so anyone in Springfield, Holyoke, Westfield, and so on. I am currently GMing Legacy of Fire and would like to pick up a few players who would like to join as players. I typically travel to southern New Hampshire to play as well. I am also willing to play if someone else is GMing a Pathfinder game.

I will check back here or leave me a private message. I hope there are some players in western Mass!

Hey there!

I live in Southern New Hampshire just over the border from Brattleboro, VT. I wouldn't likely be able to get away to Springfield on a regular basis, unfortunately, but if there's openings in a group in NH I'd definitely be interested. I've had no luck at finding anyone so far.

Hey Wander Weir,

I am in the processing of moving as I have taking an engineering position in West Springfield. We were thinking of playing once a month, probably start up again at the beginning of October (first week) as I have quite a bit of work in moving. There will be times I will travel to Claremont, NH, and others where the guys will come down to West Springfield. Like I said, we are thinking of doing it on a monthly basis on Friday Night and Saturday.

I typically GM the game and we use Pathfinder rules with a few minor house rules. I am currently running Legacy of Fire and most likely Kingmaker next. Let me know what you think and maybe we can talk at some point to see what we are looking for in gaming.

As a group we are very relaxed and just enjoy playing the game. We do not argue about the rules and typically if we are unsure of a rule we will research it after the gaming session. Two of us have been gaming for about 8 years , one is rather new but as been playing for about a year. The fourth gamer is unable to play with us anymore.

Let me know what you think.

Flipper,

Traveling that far on a monthly basis may work okay for me. Fridays and Saturdays are a bit iffy, but not impossible. I actually happen to live smack dab in between Claremont and West Springfield so both locations are equally feasible.

How far have you gotten into Legacy of Fire? I really wanted to play it but it'd be a bit disappointing to start at the end. I'm open to Kingmaker though you should know that I just started playing in a pbp game here. It's not my preferred method of play but given my lack of success in finding a group out here for the last couple of years I decided that some gaming was better than none.

I'm not a rules lawyer type of player, though I do tend to focus on getting in character when playing. I've been playing D&D in one version or another for roughly 20 years but I've not yet been able to play Pathfinder at a table yet.

Anyway, if you're interested in discussing it some more, feel free to shoot me an email to wanderweir at yahoo. I'm definitely interested in seeing if something could be worked out.

I live in Brattleboro, VT. I don't get to game much anymore (newborn daughter), but when I do I usually go over to Toy City, a hobby shop in Keene NH next to the movie theater. They have game nights on Saturdays from 6pm-11pm, and it's also a good place to find someone interested in a home game.

If you're ever there, tell Rob or Steve that Brandon sent you. :)

Thanks for the suggestion! I've been by Toy City a few times in Keene but I've never visited during game night, mainly because I prefer to play in a quieter environment. But I really should check it out sometime.

Well, the "quiet environment" can be tricky. Toy City has two game rooms. Most nights each room will have a game going on, with about 5-7 people in each one. However, I've seen nights where there's a game in each room, two more games out on the sales floor, and the larger game room also has people playing card/board games. And, I've also seen nights when there's just been one game going with only four people.

It can be hit or miss. But I find that, for the most part, the games aren't too crowded/loud. Once they get to be too packed with players, someone usually volunteers to peel off a few players and start up a new game.

If you're willing to GM, you'll definitely find a few players there, and you can bet on not having an overwhelmingly large group.

Is there anyone else in the western MA area that would be willing to join a gaming group. If you are interested send me an email at brodeur911@hotmail.com.
