Thanks Ender!It was fun to have my imagination exercised. I'm still intrigued by the homebrew that you've put together, so I'll just read along. Have a blast everyone!

Bump- Our druid will be dropping out, and so we will need to replace him with another divine caster. You can find background info Here and read the game thus far here. As always, looking for CHARACTERS, not builds. Why does your PC adventure? Why would your PC have joined a band of (seemingly) honorable mercenaries to defend a remote town from raiders? Where is my beautiful house?

I would be interested in playing a cleric or perhaps an oracle. A few things... the google link for the campaign background won't let me log in so I am not sure of religions, gods, political background, etc.

I saw a few posts up that "making up" a god is acceptable. Still? Also, what about the favored weapon of the god?

Submitted for Your Consideration:

It is by the will of The Ever Present that some die never having lived a life of insignificance and some toil in a long life of little meaning; yet, others are marked by the clawed finger of destiny to be more than they ever thought they would become. My brother and I were born... identical twins... which is a prophetic omen in and of itself but, when the Guleg at the temple raised me up and anointed me the reincarnation of their spiritual leader (dead these past five years), I instantly became more. I was given the best food and finest teachers while my brother - my companion before birth - was shuffled off to a life of quiet anonymity and poverty. Yet he remains my that quite confidant and advisor even though he was not the one chosen. He is always so calm and serene... I recognize The Unbeheld's grace in him and see it exercised on a daily basis.

I find, in times of my darkest self doubt, that I quietly fear they were mistaken when they selected me. I fear that he was the one and the Guleg simply selected wrong... he's only human after all. That is why I have undertaken this journey of not only transient flesh but also of mind and spirit. If I am truly what they say I am then the Unbeheld's Mantle will preserve me with both my body and spirit intact. I am not sure of my path as I have little experience on this plane of consciousness but I have become aware of one thing for a certainty, having people dote on me does little to prove my worthiness for the honors that have been liberally bestowed upon me. Title is not an indication of worth... deed and action define the impact of a man.

Thus, I got out bolstered by the Unbeheld's will, into the world. I take what martial training that I was given and what little I know about the outside world with me to guide and guard me on my way. I must leave my dear mother and brother behind me along with the life of comfort that I have known all of my life. I will cut my braid at the first opportunity I get and tear my clothes or dress more simply. My braid is a sign of wisdom that I have not yet earned... my clothes a sign of status that was given to me through nothing more than an accident of birth. I hear stories of the one before me and, like him, I go to traverse the Golden Path to arrive at my destiny or die in the attempt... which would only validate my secret fear... that I am not the one.

I am the conduit for the will of the Everpresent... servant, warrior, priest, and more. I will face my path along with my fear to realize my ultimate destiny.

In pondering how I would insert my character "in medias res" I was thinking that I could have had a prophetic vision leading me here and perhaps I come into the scene at a dramatic moment.

I am at work ATM but I will plan on using Hero Lab to create my character if accepted (still 4th level?).

Let me know what you think and I will have a character whipped up by tonight if so. I post pretty much any time of day though sometimes I can be scarce from 9a-6p eastern as I work during that time. I can post at least daily however.

Just re-shared some of the docs, try the second set of links, they seem to work better. Thanks!

I would be interested as well in submitting a divine caster, most likely a cleric of some type. I won't submit anything formal unless Eric drops out, his submission looks pretty solid though.

Let me know if anything changes, otherwise have fun!

@Eric We are at a dramatic moment where our druid just fled screaming when an undead appeared, and we are hoping to rendezvous/communicate with the main forces as we are an advanced scouting party. I would think a prophetic vision would easily accomplish this, you came in with the army and felt a compulsion etc....

Yeah, I read that in the thread (BTW, a nice way to have a player exit stage right... :) ) and was thinking how I would come in to the scene aside from a "poof, he's there" way (I am thinking of OOTS when the wizard remembers that "I have a familiar" and it pops into the frame).

If I am the one selected (waiting on confirmation from Ender as I don't want to be so bold as to presume), I can have a character created that day (I keep hero lab at home) so I am awaiting confirmation. It might be very dramatic as a party with a few caster types is facing down a "hungry undead warrior" thing to have a full on cleric come into the scene as that would a slow pitch into my clerical wheelhouse.

Anyhow, standing by for Ender's confirmaiton.

Another somewhat decent insertion option would be, that you are the resident Cleric of the Naga, and you were out with a patrol and just now coming back into town. Feeling the pervasive evil you rush to our side to defend your flock, and eventually join up with us to help.

Eric, please go ahead and stat out your character and post him, I think there are more than enough ways to bring him in :) Let me know when you are ready to go, and I'll make it fit.

Awesome! I will whip it up when I return home at 6pm eastern tonight.

Allright, Level 4, 18 point buy... hmm. A few outstanding questions:

Religion - I note that your homebrew gods have not come out to play so should I just pick domains or can I make it up? If I have that license to make it up, what about favored weapon (was thinking unarmed strike)? Do I have any artistic license when it comes to that (obviously, I have a god cooking in my mind already)?

Equipment - How are we handling this? Standard for the level?

re: deity- sure, have fun. Keep in mind this is a heroic swashbuckling campaign (or will be), good guys doing good things.

re: Gear: yup, standard gold for 4th, no more than 33% on any one item. Check out the discussion thread for more details, I'm a spaz and they are scattered throughout the thread :)

Gotcha on the Deity... I will likely 'port one of the Core ones and just modify it to have the flavor I am looking for so that we can ensure the balance of it. I was thinking of Maya (if you are familiar with the Hindu religion) or somesuch.

On the gear: No problem... I am not one of those players... ;)

I will have it posted tonight.

OK, so here goes for HP

1 = 8
2 = 1d8 ⇒ 1
3 = 1d8 ⇒ 2
4 = 1d8 ⇒ 8

Hope I did this right... I am kind of new to PbP...
