I'm totally up for that if we both end up getting in.

I'm down for that as well, although there'd be a limit as my backstory has me drifting into Port Peril relatively recently.

Backstory:

Hydras' family had always had a familiarity with the ocean. The swaying decks on a ship and the spray of the sea were as home to him as dirt and leaves were to others. As a boy, he had seen many different cities and peoples, never calling one his home. Home was aboard the safety of his father's ship. His father was the only family he knew as a boy. The only family he needed. He never knew what had happened to his mother.

But a day eventually came when his home was plundered by pirates. They tore the ship apart for any goods or other valuables they could sell, killing any sailors who tried to stop them, including Hydras' father. They boy was left to die amid the sinking debris. His last memory of the attack was of the flag, a green flag with a burning skull. After days of hunger, he blacked out.

The starving boy awakened aboard a sailing temple of Gozreh. The clerics offered to drop him off at a trade town so that he could learn a skill to feed himself with, but Hydras refused. He wanted to stay aboard the seas, so he pledged his services to the sea god, Gozreh. It wasn't easy, even for one who had grown aboard the seas.

Hydras had never found worship to be his calling, but still, he thanked the god for allowing his followers to find him. It wasn't devotion, but it was a start. While he struggled to call upon the divine magic like other clerics, he found that he was a far better natural fighter. Even the thought of pain drove him to greater feats of martial prowess. The trident given to him found the hearts of enemies easily, and everytime, Hydras imagined it was the heart of the pirates who had attacked his family.

Finally, his apprenticeship under the clerics ended, and he was given a mission for his own. He was to travel to Port Peril and await the arrival of a church contact. His name was kept a secret, the priests would only say that the contact would find him in the Formidably Maid. However, he never met the contact. He was felled by a blow to the head.

This has been so freaking hard for me to do. I hate this part because I know what it is like not to get picked and I never like turning people away. I decided on 5 PCs for this adventure. I really liked everybody that posted and could see some cool dynamics between multiple people. I am a little disappointed that nobody submitted a Druid (favorite class) but that is okay lol. The final 5 are (no specific order):

1. Balthe Synder
2. Mesdoram
3. Jasmine Rose
4. Holgur
5. Four Skulls

Thank you everybody for posting!!! I really enjoyed reading everybody's creative characters and ideas and really wish I was good enough to run two games at once. I hope I will get a chance in the future to play with all of you!

As for the PCs I selected, I am currently working on getting the campaign thread up and then the discussion. Instruction will be posted in the Discussion thread.

Thanks the invite. Selecting is always difficult.

Discussion thread is up. There is some general gameplay stuff posted in there, so everybody probably wants to read it before we start.

I have to agree, I appreciate the invite and hopefully I'll make it into one again. Oh well. Ce la vie.

Hello folks, our DM has disappeared, is there anyone out there that is interested in taking over as DM, we have an AWESOME group of players and we really don't want th game to end.

As a player in this game, it would great if a DM steps up. This is solid committed group, who gets along well.

This has been a wonderful group good relationships with each other and good at connecting with the various NPC's. Currently we are in the middle of the first attack on another boat.

We have also decided that mutiny is inevitable for us to survive against the rat-bastards who shanghaied us. One of us was condemned to be keelhauled for killing two crew members. We are a fun bunch of players.

This game has really been flowing well, I hope that any DM looking for a game considers us, we're as fine a group of pirates as you could hope for.

Shadow Lodge

I'm just going to throw this out there, feel free to shoot it down. I've never GMed before but I have wanted to for some time. If you can't find someone to pick up the game, id be willing to give it a shot.

I understand you probably want someone experienced but I thought I'd throw the offer or there.

You have never gm'd ever or just not on the boards?

Let's chat.

Shadow Lodge

Never GMed. I been trying to get various friends to join a game with me as a GM for years now, but as most of them were people who don't already play pathfinder/ DnD it never went anywhere.

Any questions, let me know.

Caquix we are an experienced group, but we are very supportive. We know the rules, but from what I've seen, we are not rule lawyers. The "real" issue that comes to my mind is this AP is bit complex with DM busy work.

Do you currently own the first book or two of the AP?

Shadow Lodge

No, but I don't mind picking them up. I like reading the books (I own some other ones) so if everyone is in favor of me I'll pick them up ASAP.

AYE!

I would suggest picking up the first two books: pdfs. We are nearly done with Book 1, and about to head into book 2, that way you get your feet wet. I DM a couple games on the boards and the pdfs will make you life easier to cut and paste text and for putting up maps.

As for maps, I'm not sure if you have ever used any of the mapping tools but that is ok, I can help you out and post maps for you: If you need assistance.

I believe some of the other players can help out in that regard too. There are several options for mapping, but I don't want to overwhelm you.

"Welcome Captain to the Wormwood: Our personal h*llhole."

I say welcome aboard

Shadow Lodge

Alright, I'll give this the day to see if any of the other players have any issues with me taking over then go pick up the PDFs. I'll probably be using ditzie for maps.

I for one am happy to add you to our pressed crew. You're in for a good ride, I think.

I am am looking forward to you taking over duties as god for this game.

Also, I have used ditzie in some other games and found that it works very well. I am happy to help with anything not related to technology, because I am just hopeless there.

Alright, well that's all but one player so I went ahead and got the PDFs. Give me a day or so to catch up on what has happened so far. I should be alright on the maps and such, I'll probably throw up a sample to see if it works for everyone.

One question, how do you usually pull the maps out of the PDFs? I was thinking screen cap but I'm wondering if there is a better way.

I snip tool the pdf maps. Then move them to maptools (or wherever) then put them in dropbox for public viewing.

GM Caquix do you have any questions? How's your reading coming along?
