Save Doctor Lucky

We've just announced Save Doctor Lucky, due for release in November.

Will there be any rule changes from the Cheapass version? Available optional rules?

I will eventually get a copy just for the improved packaging (and to continue my collection of all things Dr Luckyish), but gameplay changes may determine how soon I MUST HAVE it.

Gameplay is the same as the previous edition, though the actual rules text will be revised in the same way that our Kill Doctor Lucky rules were revised from the Cheapass Games versions of KDL. It's mainly about bringing it back into print, and making it look great.

Actually, it looks like there's going to be one rule addition—something that was added into later editions of Kill Doctor Lucky but never made it into Save Doctor Lucky before: Doctor Lucky can't change the turn order until everyone has taken at least one turn.

Excellent! Thanks, Vic.

I look forward to ordering this thru my FLGS.

Save...Doctor Lucky? Why on earth would I want to do that?

I want to kill him!

First, you want to show the world that you are selfless individual and a humanitarian. You want the glory of being the hero. And then, when you are beloved by aunties and toddlers alike, when parades have been thrown in your honor, then you make your move against the old man.

Besides, who wants him to die from some random accident??

That you didn't cause, I mean.

One more minor mechanical change to the previous edition: The Bath Towel now has a save value of 2 on D-Deck, and the Map of Ship now has a save value of 2 on A-Deck. (Before, they were each worth 1 in those locations—which was the same as not playing a card at all.)
