Looking to join or form a NW Indiana PFS group

Local Play

Greetings,

I would really like to find a group for regular PFS play in the North West Indiana area. My last regular group disbanded towards the end of the 2nd edition era. That should tell you something about my age (30).

I played in and DM'd hundreds of Neverwinter Nights adventures over the last seven years. More recently I discovered Pathfinder and I am aching to get back onto a real table.

I am aware that there are one or two flgs campaigns in the area, but I'm only available Saturday Night and anytime Sunday.

I live in Portage and would be willing to travel anywhere in Lake, Porter, or Laporte county. Maybe a little further if it was on a rotational basis.

I guess I'm open to to playing with any one over the age of eighteen but I would probably be more comfortable if the group had a median age greater than 22.

I wouldn't mind joining an already established group, but I'm also open to (and perhaps more interested in) forming a new group if there are four or five interested people. I'd be willing to host and/or GM if needed.

Ideally I'm thinking Saturday Nights starting around 8 or 9pm.

So, any openings or interests in forming a group?

Welcome back to the tabletop Organized!
We have a gaming group that plays on alternating Saturday nights starting at 5pm, in Schererville. It's not PFS, but we just started (only two sessions) an Eberron game using PFRPG. We usually rotate between two campaigns (with different GM's) every six months so the game doesn't get stale. Later this year, I plan to run the Kingmaker AP.

I also organize a weekly PFS game at Lightspeed Hobbies in Portage, but that is on Thursday nights 5-9. The store does not currently have space to support a PFS game on the weekend or I'd probably organize something then as well.

When the summer slam at my work dies down, I'll be available on Sunday afternoons and evenings. I too am looking for a regular gaming group.

I live in LaPorte, but until recently I would drive to Chesterton or Valparaiso to play on a weekly basis. I also play in and/or run a PFS game almost weekly (Thursdays) at Lightspeed Hobbies in Portage. All I'm getting at with that is: I don't mind driving! It's too bad though, I never get to use my game room.

Anyway, even if you can't make it out to play, you should try to make it out to Lightspeed Hobbies on a Thursday - there's a dozen or so players in the area, and at least half of them fit your criteria. I don't know how many are looking for players for their home groups, but it can't hurt to ask!

And Just Because:
Ideally, you'd hire me to work some 9-5 desk job so I can be your Saturday night gaming buddy, and I can get out of a career in sweltering kitchens.

Edit: Ninja'd by The Bob.

"The Bob"...I like that. Sounds like "The Don" from the Godfather. Gonna add it to my business card. Can I make you an offer that you can't refuse?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the welcome and offers. On Saturday's the very earliest I could start would be around 7pm. Mon-Thursday I'm tied up until almost 10pm.

So it would appear that those games are just not in the cards for me, but I love Lightspeed hobbies.

My main goal is still to find a Saturday night game, but keep me in mind when your Sundays open up Tom.

I'm up in Kalamazoo, MI and occasionally go GM for my brothers in St. Joseph, MI. Kzoo is about 1.5 hour drive from South Bend, St. Joe is about 30 minutes from South Bend. Let me know what you think.

We have a pretty active gaming community in South Bend, IN. Send me a message offlist if you can make the drive out every couple of weeks. No active PFS that I know of, but maybe you can start something up.

Where are you based in South Bend? (Game store, library, etc.?)

The Griffon Bookstore on Colfax Ave. There is another LGS on the north side of town called Fantasy Games, but there isn't much open space for RPGS, mostly MTG and GW minis.

Do you play upstairs? What day(s)?

About this time last year I was looking to start a PFS community in South Bend, but I wasn't aware of any Pathfinder interest in the area. I'd love to try again.

We don't often play Pathfinder at the store due to the short Saturday hours. If we're up there, it is mostly playing Battletech or historical miniatures on Saturdays from 11:00-6:00. We'll be there this weekend if you're interested in meeting us. I know of at least two others that would like to play PFS.

South bend is a little far for me, as is St. Joe. I appreciate the offers though.

I was hoping Post Gencon there would be a little bit of a rush the way Pathfinder blitzkrieged the Ennie awards.

Offer still stands, I'm willing to Host and/or GM a Saturday night game in Portage. Otherwise looking to join a Saturday night game.

PFS would be preferred but adventure paths would also be fun.

Liberty's Edge

I'm in Plymouth and would be very interested in being a part of a PFS community in South Bend, or just playing a campaign.

EDIT: Ooh, just noticed you said you're only available on Weekends. Woops. Also, Tom said pretty much the same exact thing I did.

Well South Benders, lets try and form a group and stop cluttering organized's thread.

Organized, good luck man. I was in your situation once upon an time, and it can be rough finding a group when all your time is spent at work!

Fellow Indianians. I'm starting to organize Society events for this years PentaCon 2010 in Ft. Wayne Indiana this November 5th - 7th. You can get to the post here.

I am hoping to have a large number of tables for Pathfinder Society.

Organized, are you still looking for a Saturday night game?

Indeed I am.

We have a group that meets bi-weekly (next 10/16) on Saturday night 5pm-midnight in Schererville. If that interests you, send me an email and I'll give you more details.
