Hey, does anyone play Pathfinder in the Pittsburgh, PA area? I'm in a group, but I'm interested to know how big our community is.

I'm another Pittsburgher. I've got a group of 6 others that I play with.

Whereabouts do you play? We're in the North Hills, in Cranberry Township.

We all live and play in Squirrel Hill, which is a couple miles east of Downtown but still within the city. I'm currently a player in CotCT and I'm running a game of RotRL. My FLGS is Phantom of the Attic in Oakland, I'm not sure if they run any Pathfinder stuff there though.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Yeah, ours is Legions in the North Hills.

(and of course I know where Phantom is, I'm from da burgh n' at. lol)

Doesn't look like there are too many of us, huh? Just out of curiosity, how big is your group?

My wife and I, and a friend of ours play Pathfinder. I'm currently GMing RotRL, just getting ready to start #4. We're out in Beaver County, West Mayfield to be specific.

I've never heard of Legions? I've been to Phantom, and Game Wizards on Babcock.

I'm out towards the airport. I run a PF game for my kids and will either convert my ongoing campaign or start a new one using PF (currently using the Conan OGL rules). Currently, my existing campaign is a single PC but traditionally, my groups have always been small so running adventures for single or duo sets of players isn't an issue.

West Mayfield? I'm in Beaver Falls! hah! Small world.

Our group is 5 people. Right now we're running Kingmaker, we actually just started.

Legions is on McKnight Road, from what I understand.

I just looked it up. Looks like it is on Route 19/Perry Highway, closer to Wexford.

I think Kingmaker is going to be the next path on our list, but as often as we can play, it's still at least a year or two away.

Late to the thread but I am in a 7 person group that is based in the city. The location rotates between each of our homes.

We are all over the age of 30, and 4 of the group have been playing since high school (!!).

Just made the switch from 3.5 to Pathfinder, and we try and game every weekend. :O)

Yay! 'burgh players.

We have 4 folks in our group right now. Me, my husband, a family friend and our 17 yr old daughter.

We're in Munhall. I grew up in Ben Avon and my husband grew up in Squirrel Hill. We do most of our game shopping at Phantom of the Attic in Oakland, but we've been to Phantom as well.

Oh, yes, we play at our home on Sundays and rotate as GMs.

OK, here's a question. What do you folks accept in your games?

We use almost everything. All Pathfinder stuff is auto-accepted and most 3.5 that hasn't been converted...if we have the book/reference.

Liberty's Edge

To attempt to keep things as balanced as possible, we pretty much roll with all Paizo material only at our table. I'm not sure how much balance that actually provides (lol), but that's how we approach things.

Go Steelers!

yeh! Go Pens too!

We just switched to Pathfinder, but the DM still allows 3.5 stuff as long as it is from the 'major' sources: PHB, DMG, any of the "Complete"-series of books.

Phantom of the Attic is still the place we go to buy things too; there is another shop in Brookline called "Geekadrome" but I haven't been there yet.

For miniatures, there is an awesome little shop out in Ligonier called Toy Soldier Gallery run by a guy named Norm --- he and his wife are amazing miniature painters and super-nice people. I'd recommend the drive - it's worth a trip on a nice autumn weekend.

Try living in Altoona. I swear the four people I DM for are the only people around that play. Go Steelers and Pens!

This is REALLY good info, thanks!
