To further demonstrate the interchangeability of the classes, we’re going to include Player's Handbook classes alongside Heroes of the Fallen Lands classes in the special celebrity game event we’re running at Gen Con this year. Chris Perkins, Dungeon Master to the Stars, will host a game for such D&D superstars as R.A. Salvatore, Ed Greenwood, Larry Elmore, and Tracy Hickman that we will record and make available for anyone who wasn’t able to attend the event.

You mean more then you already know? 'Cause from where I am city you've pretty much covered the details. I mean if your planning on crashing their game I suppose you need room numbers and such but otherwise it all seems rather self explanatory.

All I can tell you is the 'Heroes of the Fallen Lands' is part of the new Essentials line of DnD 4e. My guess is that it is meant to show that Core Players book 4e classes are compatible with the new Essentials line of 4e classes.
Big names around the gaming table is just a commercial publicity item which will likely be put up on the main WotC web site like Penny Arcades episodes.

I can totally imagine that game ...
Ed Greenwood: "I'm casting Magic Missile at the orc !"
Chris Perkins: "OK, is that a PHB Magic Missile, post-errata PHB Magic Missile or an Essential Magic Missile ?"
Ed: "..."
Hey now, I think that's misrepresenting things quite a bit! The post-errata Magic Missile and Essential Magic Missile are the same, and I'm sure they'll all have pregens that avoid any such confusion.
Far more importantly, I find your depiction of Ed's action quite inappropriate. Everyone knows you don't cast Magic Missile at orcs, you cast it at the darkness!

A better question might be what characters do these author's play?
Does RA Salvatore play Drizz't, a Drizz't clone, or something else?
Does Ed play Elminister? What kind of daily powers does Elminister have?
What could be a challenge for these types in combat?
or
Since it is a commercial type of table, will they instead play Dark Sun characters and avoid people asking questions like why isn't Salvatore playing Drizz't and Ed playing Elminister?

In regards to the actual question, I did stumble upon the actual description for the event, though it doesn't share much more:

Chris Perkins: Ok lets get started. You are in a tavern.
Ed Greenwood: I seek out the proprietor and question him about his current stock of Dragon Flagon Ale, where it was brewed, by whom, how much it cost to be delivered to the tavern, by whom, and how much it cost to stock it in the basement, by whom and how.
Chris Perkins: OK..roll a diplomacy check.
R.A. Salvatore: Can I help? My character has a 17 comeliness...
Chris Perkins: Uh, comeliness is not in the current edition-
Tracy Hickman: Blah, blah, rules, rules. For the last 45 seconds we've done nothing but bicker about rules. The game is about a journey, not rules. Whats our journey?? How do we become better people and find our spiritual centers? This reminds me of a time in 1979 when my wife Laura and I were writing the latest in our series of novels about-
Larry Elmore: <wakes, groggy> Who are you people and why am I tied to this chair?
R.A. Salvatore: ...and 18/75 strength...what? What are we playing, that 2nd edition crap? Ugh all those optional skills...
Chris Perkins: No Robert, we are playing 4th edition.
R.A. Salvatore: FOURTH? There are four editions of this game now?
Larry Elmore: <still groggy, tries to stand but ropes hold fast> Tracy? Is that you? Whats on my head? I can't see.
Ed Greenwood: On my way over to the proprietor I sleep with 3 stunning red heads, ascend to Godhood, then catastrophically fall back to mortality in a brutal display of hubris.
Tracy Hickman: Ed, now that's what I'm talking about! I help him find a greater meaning in the small things around us and show how the spirit that lives in all of us is..like...uh...like..when my wife Laura and I were writing the 27th novel in a series of 52-
Chris Perkins: Did you guys even skim a rulebook?
Ed Greenwood: If by skim you mean dipped in chocolate, drizzled with cherries and flambed, then yes.
Tracy Hickman: My wife Laura did.
R.A. Salvatore: Yes, the Dungeoneers Survival Guide. I do not know why.
Larry Elmore: Wait a minute. Is this that D&D superstars thing? Am I at GenCon?

wow....there is alot of anger on this thread. im sorry i read it.
I think you might be reading more than is there - the sense I got was that all the comments have largely been joking in nature (or at least, that's been my intent in mine, aside from the actual informational response)...
