Kneeling over the fallen spider Kol attempts to salvage any of the javelins he used to fell it. Glancing up at Lycia he grumbles, "Foul beast isn't it?. I am quite fortunate to have such a formidable warrior by my side", bellowing a hearty laugh at Lycia's obvious distress.
Walking back to retrieve his sword he smiles kindly at Lycia, "Worry not. For you stand behind my sword and not at its tip."
Turning to Delphey, "Shall we continue then little one?"
Lycia smiles sheepishly, and straightens her posture in an effort to salvage her dignity. "There does not seem to be a staircase; at least, none I can discern." She looks at the smooth outer walls ruefully. "I wonder if we might have to climb."
Was there a staircase at some point? I mean, can we see if it's collapsed rubble?

Kol retrieves both of his javelins, bloodied by the spider's green ichor.
Lycia finds no sign of a staircase from where she can see. There is much of the lower level that no one can investigate.
With Lycia's help, Delphey spots a large cocooned bundle hanging in a corner of the ceiling. With some effort, it is cut down. Inside is a mummified dog. On its neck is a collar with a silver tag that inscribed with the name "Kita".

Lycia kneels, regarding the shriveled husk with a mixture of pity and revulsion. She gently brushes the tag with a finger. "I wonder if this dog once ran with the ferals outside." She reaches down and unclasps the collar, raising it to eye-level.

Oh, I see now . . . everything's collapsed on this level. About how high is the second floor, from ground level? The interior of the tower's largely exposed, right?
"Does anybody have a grappling hook? I imagine that the only feasible way up would be by rope."

The second floor is about 15' from the ground. The second, third and fourth floors of the tower is exposed.
Besides a rope and grapple, you can also try climbing the remaining parts of the broken walls.

Oh, alright. I guess that would be easier than trying to go up the smooth walls!

Delphi scans the tower looking for the best route to climb. "Maybe I should go first and see what there is to see." Delphi attempts to carefully scale the ruined wall.climb:1d20+6
"That is a fine idea, but use care! We do not know what creatures may lurk above!" Lycia reloads her crossbow and readies it, keeping an eye on Delphey.

"Be careful little one. I will follow shortly behind."

Delphey nimbly scales the ruined masonry up to the floor above. Despite his big stature, Kol also climbs up easily, a gift of his barbarian background.
The young adventurers find themselves in what was a large chamber. Half the floor has fallen away. To the northeast and southeast are wide wooden doors. No sounds can be heard behind either door.

Lycia watches as the two ascend. After they safely reach the second floor, she calls out: "I am coming up, now!" Stowing her crossbow, she gingerly tests the crumbling masonry for adequate handholds. The last thing I need is to fall to my death. I hope that luck outshines my lack of skill . . .

Kol offers his hand to Lycia as she finishes scaling the wall.
"Thank you," she whispers, smiling, as she takes his hand and pulls herself up. She brushes grit off her knees, surveys her surroundings, and frowns in contemplation.

Scratching his chin whilst glancing back and forth between the two doors Kol whispers to Delphey and Lycia, "Which shall it be then?"
"If we were certain there was no danger, I would suggest we each take a door. As our knowledge is limited, however, I feel we should remain together. From the state of the lower floor, I propose that the floor beyond the northward door may yet be intact, while the southward may have collapsed."
Lycia Kaeyl
The ancient wooden doors have undergone some recent repairs. They fit their door frames snugly.
"These doors have been repaired recently. Either our missing Pathfinder made these repairs (which I doubt), or some other intelligent creature did."
Producing a fragment of cured leather from her component pouch, she touches it to her brow, chanting a few arcane words.
I cast mage armor on myself.

Kol nods, his face now wearing a stern determined look.
Clutching his great sword tightly he murmurs, "Right then. North.", as he walks in front of the northern door.

Judging from the shelves lining the walls, this darkened room might once have been a storeroom, though its contents have long since succumbed to the passage of time. A crack in the northern wall has apparently let in some rainwater, which has collected in a large puddle on the floor.
A tiny creature looks at you curiously from across the room ...

A tiny creature looks at you curiously from across the room ...
Aw, how cute!
Still keeping her crossbow readied, Lycia examines the lizard, wondering if she's heard of a creature such as this.

Kol looks at the tiny lizard,"I am unfamiliar with this creature, though it does not look so menacing."
Scratching his head he reminds himself that only a fool disregards the slightest of threats.
Kol glances about the room trying to see if he can spot anything more.

Applying your last roll to an untrained nature knowledge check.
Lycia recognizes the small beast as a shocker lizard. As its name suggests, it can deliver an electrical shock to another creature in its immediate vicinity. It is a tamable animal and has been known to serve as pets.
"This creature is what is known as a shocker lizard. They have a strange ability to produce electricity, generally to shock nearby creatures that frighten it. They can be domesticated, but I do not want to take a risk. I think we should either leave it be, or subdue it from afar."
She pauses, then smirks. "And do try to avoid the water."
Lycia Kaeyl
Tail wagging and mouth open, the lizard scampers towards the party.
Umm . . . nice lizard . . . that's a good boy . . .
Lycia freezes. "Try not to make any sudden moves." She makes a rapid clicking sound with her tongue, slowly extending a hand toward the creature, palm upturned.
Delphey Dobbs
Keeping as still as possible Delphey tucks her sling into her belt and pulls a dagger, dancing it across her nimble fingers a into a 'reverse' grip. Shifting her weight back, she waits for a moment.
Then looking straight ahead she speaks softly and calm.
"Kol, why don't you slice that things head off before it gets to close."
Lycia Kaeyl
"Kol, why don't you slice that things head off before it gets to close."
"Please, try to avoid slicing me in the process. Is it possible to wield your sword in a nonchalant manner?" Lycia hopes her voice is as calm as Delphey's, and that she doesn't get a first-hand experience of the shocker lizard's namesake.
If we act suddenly enough, and the lizard is unsuspecting, can we catch it flat-footed? If so, Delphey and Kol could go to town on this guy.

"Are you certain you cannot tame it?" Kol says. Readying his sword he waits for a decision as the tiny lizard almost reaches them.
I'd rather not attack but if the party decides to attack instead of trying to tame it then here's my attack roll:
Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage:2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 1) + 4 = 6

Lycia shakes her head, pondering. "No, I am not sure. I do not want to hurt this creature . . . ." She nods, her expression grim. "Very well. Let it come to me. We shall see if it wishes to befriend us or repel us."
I will wait for the creature, to see what it will do.

Gods, that hurt! Lycia grits her teeth as she pulls back enough to escape the full brunt of the shock. Nerves still tingling from residual electricity, she utters a short, hoarse laugh. "I deem this creature to be of the 'unfriendly' variety!"
I do not want to use an AoO; I'd rather try something a little less violent, but I think it'll be a full-round action . . .
Lycia Kaeyl
When Round 1 begins:
Lycia slowly sways her hand in a sideways figure-eight, chanting in the lilting sing-song of a lullaby.
I'd like to begin casting sleep, focused on the lizard. The casting time is one round, so it'll take a little while.

Actually, I'd like to ammend this. I'm realizing that we have no idea what else may be in this dungeon; I don't want to waste more resources on this lizard, especially when something worse is doubtlessly waiting for us in this fortress! Looks like the lizard will have to die . . . T_T
I'm still not using an AoO (since I have no melee weapon at hand); I'll wait until round 1 begins to set my actions . . .
