Pasta hatred for the Totp. Yay?

Crap! I wish I had seen this before I actually started the thread. Oh well. Let the hate commence.

Speaking of Trolls, I feel the need to share this story:

A few weeks back, on another Gaming Forum I frequent, we had an individual come into our midst acting pretty nonchalant and normal at first. He began by just going back and forth on the Edition Wars debate that's pretty much still ongoing at this site. The nice thing about this site, though, is that we're all pretty mature on the discussions and it rarely devolves into name-calling (mostly because the mods are very active and will stomp out and lock threads pretty quick if flames rise).

He began by 'debating' us that we were mis-informed on 4th Edition. One of the best threads he created was a simple question on what we considered to be Ret-Cons regarding the changes after the Spellplague in the Forgotten Realms setting. We responded with some examples of what we considered ret-cons (elves now being eladrin, etc.) but his response was that those were ret-cons in his eyes. Of course, this led to more and more arguing over not just what was done to the Realms, but what the definition of a Ret-con was.

At every step, he told us we were wrong. And he stopped being nice, which, by internet law, forces others to take off the gloves. Well, long story short, it became that when every he appeared in a thread, a few of us (yes, I was included) simply replied with 'Begone Troll'.

The real interesting part is that I noticed that the avatar name he chose for the site bore a resemblance to a recognizable person in the game industry. I had pm'd a couple of the other posters that he had singled out and, sure enough, we discovered that he is an industry insider working for some Beach Sorcerers. The one person I was in contact with called him on it through a PM.

Next thing you know, he makes a public apology to that person, then disappears off the boards. :D

Interesting. So wanting the full juicy gossip. Gills are flapping... I die.

All right folks. It's late, and I've got to get up in a few hours and go to work. Talk to you all mañana.

~sighs~ What a bad way to end the day. My house and my next door neighbor's house got robbed.

Aw, f*#@. Sorry, Sharoth.

Dude Sharoth I am so sorry!

My next door Neighbor lost her flat panel TV. As for me...

My (almost) new X-Box 360, the power converter and the controllers for my PS2, Elder Scrolls III - Morrowind, Elder Scrolls IV - Oblivion, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic I & II, my 5 year old laptop, my back pack that had my algebra book and my dice in it, and most of my Dad's guns. My dog and myself are ok. I am waiting for forensics to get here so I can close the door that got kicked in and turn on the AC.

Note - I just received these three X-Box games YESTERDAY, Elder Scrolls III - Morrowind and the two Knights of the Old Republic. I had yet to even play them. GRRRRRRRRR... ~sighs~ Oh well. Such is life.

Crap. Do you have anywhere secure to sleep tonight?

OTOH, my MASSIVE DVD collection and most of my X-Box and all the PS2 games are still here. So is my RPG and book collection. Plus, one of my credit card bills is not due until after next payday, so I can take that money and apply it towards a new door. However, that means that it would probably take over 2k to really replace everything and the guns can't really be replaced.

~WEG~ Oh, let someone try to rob me tonight! I would feel sorry for them. REALLY sorry for them.

~smile~ Nope. This was for real. I got home, noticed the door was open, wondered who was there, then noticed the door and then saw that the X-Box was gone, then I started searching for my dog. She was cowering under the computer desk, but she was ok. I was slightly hysterical when I called a friend, but then I calmed down. Lucky for me, they had my Dad's jewelery box in a pillow case, but they must have forgotten it. The house is still a wreck and I can't clean it up until Police Forensics gets here to check and record everything.

Liberty's Edge

sucks, man.

~laughter~ I was (and am still) MORE upset over loosing my dice than I was over loosing my laptop.

Heathansson wrote:

~shrugs~ I took it better than my Mom did when her house got robbed. I went hysterical for about 5 minutes and have been calm ever since.

~groans~ DRAT!!! One of my disks for Diablo II was in my laptop. So now I have to replace that too!!!

Gun. If he already took your other guns, then it is reasonable to assume he is armed. He kicked in your door, so it is reasonable to assume he is unafraid of confrontations and/or violent.

~shakes my head~ Nope. I learned from how I felt when my Mom got robbed. At this point, I am upset, but I will move on. Besides, I can handle things now that I know that Cheandy is ok.

Liberty's Edge

Right on.....
I vacillated about observing that; figured you'd forgive me.

~grins~ Oh, I am mad and upset, but the damage is done. If I had not lived through it before with my Mom, then I would be in worse shape.

Doh! I just bit my tongue.

Sharoth, sorry to hear. That sucks. Glad to see you have a (relatively) straight head on your shoulders to deal with it.

Its been a long, stressful day. I think its time for some relaxing with the PostMonster and then heading to bed. There is always a chance tomorrow won't be as crappy...

I am sorry about your tongue. Self cannibalism is never fun.

Hang in there, my draconic pal. You've got a good attitude in the face of major suckage.

I'm sorry to hear people are having so many disasters. Holy cow, folks. Hope tomorrow is better.

I really feel for ~Sharoth~ losing three games you haven't even played ONCE. Man, that hurts.
