You'd think that, but you'd be surprised as to Kellen's reading level and preferences.
If she had said Pathfinder Fiction, then yes .... I would refer to your original comment too. :D

Going out for Mexican and Margaritas with friends and wife = full of...wait, does WIN get me on Treppa's list? Of course, running to HPB with only 40 mins left open (the Flagship closes at 11) to pick up two last second books with 50% coupon is just the way to wrap it up. Damn. Five margaritas and I feel FINE. Think I'll stay up and read M.A.R. Barker if the wife won't kill me.

Wow. Cool. And for the record, Margarita Ranch does not water down their margaritas, and they have Happy Hour all day on Sunday. My kind of folks!

At the Con we got a few Planet Stories books in our goody bag. Since we have been home he has read all of them, two or three times. He loves them. So we asked him if he would be interested in the sub for his birthday, he was very excited at the idea. His reading comprehension is through the roof, at last testing he was reading on an 8th grade level. :)

AAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Damn all these trolls and their insistence on trying to ruin the Off Topics section. And why do people continue to feed them?
*blink*
Morning!
As long as there are political/religious threads extant here there will be troll nests. Many folks feel obligated to respond to asshattery. Heck, my last dip into the troll swamp was to defend the honor of Texas, not because I am particularly enamored of the state, but because it was literally infuriating to watch people say bigoted nasty things about a place and get away with it.
After that BP-raising adventure I have regained my composure, and I refuse to participate anymore. What's the purpose? No one in those toxithreads is actually interested in an honest debate. Or at least the majority of them aren't. It's more about snark and scoring points on those who disagree with you. My opinion only of course...

Not just your opinion Patrick.
Edit: And, morning!

And I saw earlier there is a new Political Thread about the Australian Election... Feel free to go in and spout your opinions as everyone else from other countries does with your Political Threads...
*sigh* I was sorely tempted but after I saw YD had posted already it wasn't worth it.

And, with that....
My work here is done. I'm needed elsewhere now. I'm needed wherever outlaws rule the West, wherever innocent women and children are afraid to walk the streets, wherever a man cannot live in simple dignity, wherever a people cry out for justice.
So you're needed in Kings Cross?

We just got back to Pescara from Venice yesterday. It's really an incredible place, although it was too hot. I would love to see it in a cooler time of year.
I tried the risotto alle seppie (rice cooked with octopus in its own ink, so the sauce is jet black). I had heard of it, and it's a very traditional dish, so I had to try it. It was pretty good, but I couldn't get over the way it looked. That's just not right.
Oh, I also stopped into that RPG store across the street from our apartment and had a chat with the proprietor. I almost had to laugh at how much the situation is almost exactly the same as it is in the US. They host 4e Encounters on Wednesday nights, and he said it's been a great way to get people interested in RPGs, but he finds that more experienced players tend to gravitate towards some RP-heavy Italian game (I forget its name). Because that native game is so popular, he said Pathfinder hasn't found much of a niche in Italy, although people come in for it occasionally (he was sold out of Core Rulebooks at the moment). But, as is always the case, RPGs don't drive enough business, and he makes most of his revenue off of Magic and WoW trading card games. It sounds like things are more or less the same everywhere. I bought a few dice because not buying anything would have been awkward. I took a couple of semi-blurry pictures that I'll try to make available soon (of the store facade and also some 4e rulebooks in Italian translation).

This thread is growing nicely.
What did I miss?
Well, Scott missed his friend's Block Party over the weekend, due to being attacked by an escaped lunatic from the nearby asylum. Meanwhile, Derek spent a wonderful day with his new best friend Sam, joyfully discussing the merits of the capitalist system. And, across town Gary was busy programming his new Doomsday....No, wait! That's my soap opera!

I didn't take advantage of the 50%. :/ We did all of our outings on Friday and Saturday, so it wasn't going to take anything short of a miracle to get out on Sunday. On the flip side, got a lot of things accomplished around the house.
Going to take the bulldog out to the vet for the six week post op visit to see how they determine he's progressing. According to the PT last week, he's 77% there. <crosses fingers>
EDIT: TOTP! <does a slow strip>
