If you don't mind losing a gut or two, I could get you front row tickets to TED let alone Gen Con.
Today at TED! Jade performs vivisections!
The secret to steely nerves during such work is to tell yourself, it's just meat on a plate, man... meat on a plate. A clothes pin over the nose doesn't hurt either.
Does being a veggie eater help or hinder the process?
It doesn't help, but it's easier to picture meat that Urizen's burbling innards in your hand.

Half my burbling innards are easily expendable. They've been cordoned off and simply resides as unused husks and detritus. Now if I had my own Kuato attachment. Time to take a trip. I already knew that. If I thought I could have made it consistently, I would have asked in their thread in the Gamer Connection area. Wolfthulu and I have played together. I really can't justify driving that far north for a game right now, I'm just being a whiny little (my DM is in Europe for two weeks) whiner guy.

;)

Ah, you're probably better off. I think they game at my brother's house, which means you'd have been exposed to my niece and nephew. And that way lies madness......
Pfft. Those sweet little munchkins? I am NOT one who thinks all little kids are cute, but those two are adorable.

I saw Inception Saturday afternoon with my oldest son and absolutely loved it. I highly recommend it to everyone. I don't want to say anymore because the less you know going in, the more enjoyable the movie will be.

Then I followed it up with finally seeing the Book of Eli. You all were right, it also is a great movie.

I haven't been to the theater since Avatar. So many films that I want to see. But I can't. Why?

I get reminded with a barrage of f**~ing 'Well, I want to see Sex and the City 2. We can still see it in the dollar theaters, right?'

"Honey, I can tell you what happens. Big flakes out. Carrie buys some Manolo Blahniks and humps her new f#~%-me pumps with more vigor than Marcos on a shoe binge. Samanatha gets her cougar on. Charlotte discovers her orgasm. Miranda finally comes out and admits she's a lesbian. They go on an adventure to places they realistically shouldn't be able to afford. Boo-hoo-isms. Big flashes the smile. Happily Cash Grab Ever After. Until #3".

Am I close?

Never had to deal with raccoons, but don't even let me get started on squirrels. They caused massive destruction both to the house, the ductwork, and detroyed a few family heirlooms that were stored in plastic bins they somehow chewed their way into. I hate squirrels more than I can say. Stupid tree rats.

I have two types. One, I know where I am but have no clue how I got there (via autopilot, perhaps). The other, I have no idea where I am or who I'm with but remember it slowly within a minute or two. It used to be terrifying, but now I at least remember that it will come back, so I just smile and nod until it passes. It gets much worse under stress and nonexistant on, say, vacation.
Thanks everyone, and particularly you, Treppa. That's almost exactly what happens. I had a strangely severe instance of it the other day where I didn't know where I was (spoiler: in the hall on the way to the bathroom at work) and had a brief spike of panic. Was becoming slightly worried about early dementia or such.
Mine seems to be entirely related to stress and life changes, particularly moving home or office or having marital changes. You're not stressed at all, are you? EDIT: Mine was also worse when younger and improved with age, so dementia is unlikely.
My Dad died two weeks ago. It might've been because of that. It had been ongoing for a while, but hadn't ever been severe except the one time.

My condolences.

Note: I think that while mythbusters showed that such accuracy was technically possible I think they also proved (or perhaps learned) that this film was staged. Still looks cool, though.

Yeah, their movies are bad, but the series' can be good. Lots of people like Eureka (never seen it, not my thing), and the new Haven seems to have potential. Warehouse 13 and Sanctuary, while campy, are both fun to watch.
