I'm glad your experiences have been positive, and I'm sure you will continue to stand up for those who are excluded from things on a personal level. However, I'm sure you realize that your experiences are just that, and that others have gone through something quite the opposite. Among this group, there are those to whom it will always be more about the institutionalized practices and less about the exceptions to the rule, which seems to be the issue here. Hopefully this is another area where high fences make good neighbors, but I can also see how to some that might be too hypocritical- it didn't work well with the racially-based civil rights struggle, so I see how it might not work well here. I would more suggest restraint overall instead of expecting disappointment- this is a situation where NOONE is going to be 100% happy no matter what this organization does.

Its going to hit 91.4 degrees Fahrenheit (33C) in the western parts of Sydney tomorrow...

Looks like summer is going to be very hot and very humid.....

We have at least an inch on the ground in the cities and still going. Sounds like 4 to 7 by the time it is done. Of course I have a half hour plus drive to my hockey game tonight.

Yeah, I realize there's a movie thread for this type of stuff but Skyline was bad. Even AZ's fondness of brain eating couldn't save it.

Nothing much, just the zombie apocalypse has started, grab your guns, hoard your food and find a defense zone.

Zombie ROBOT Apocalypse! You can't leave out the ROBOTS! That would ruin everything!

Don't you realize the sheer genius it took to come up with that back when I started my international conspiracy for world domination?!

I mean, aside from the fact that I had to actually know there was a whole WORLD to dominate and that it would eventually include "nations", I also had to know that I would have robots available. It's not like I've kept them in storage for all these centuries!
.
.
.
You know what? Fine! If you folks're not going to at least acknowledge how brilliant this plan has been from the get-go, I'll just call the whole thing off.

Go on, and lead your lives as you choose. When you get tired of that and want me to dominate all life on the planet, let me know. Sheesh!

Come on, zombie robots. Let's go get something to eat. You, too, my draconic clones...hey, where'd you guys go?

Have they even said there was going to be a sequel to the Star Trek movies?. I hope so I liked it...... *waits for trekkies to throw stuff at him*

The Exchange

The film's major cast members have signed on for two sequels. J. J. Abrams and Bryan Burk will produce, although Abrams has not signed to direct. When speaking on the alternate reality set up in Star Trek, Abrams commented that it would be "ridiculous to not be open" to ideas like resurrecting William Shatner's James T. Kirk or recasting Khan Noonien Singh. Orci and Kurtzman explained the dilemma for the sequel was whether to pit the crew against another villain, or to have an "exploration sci-fi plot where the unknown and nature itself is somehow an adversary." On recasting Khan, Orci questioned "why take the chance?" Paramount is planning to release the sequel on June 29, 2012.

I have only seen snow a few times. When my daughters get older I will take them to a ski resort in New Zealand. Its cheaper to fly to New Zealand and go to a ski resort than going to a ski resort in Australia.

That's sad. Why is it cheaper?

Also if it gets bad enough here I will try to ship you some. We tend to get enough.

The more I watch StarTrek XI the less I like the movie. Plot holes large enough to fly a starship through is not a good thing. Also can these movies kill these fraking lens flares!! Please.

Not much Snow in Australia so the Resorts can charge what they want. New Zealand is further south so they have more snow and the exchange rate for us is excellent.

New Zealand can become a state of Australia if they want its part of our constitution. Wellington is closer to Canberra than Perth is and Kiwi's don't need work permits or visa's to come over.

It is?? So much I do not know. Is there a reason why they would. Historically what is the relationship of Australia to New Zeland?

We are siblings - Best of friends we like to tease each other a lot. Threaten one of us you threaten the both of us. In sport we are the biggest rivals. They have better snow we have better beaches.

Kind of like Canada and the US but even closer.

Something really dire would have to happen for them to want to become a state - they are a very independent people.

Honestly I have felt that a lot of people from Canada, the few I have met, feel we all have big egos, and are a bunch of spoiled brats. They really did not seem to like us here.

A lot of Kiwi's have the same opinion of Australia - but we have a very long history of making fun of each other. Both countries know that should there be a war or a disaster either of us would be the first to help and we would not hold back.

The brushfires last year are a great example - we had volunteer fire-fighters from New Zealand immediately...

Well, Scott finally made the long journey home, only to discover that the town had been overrun by a horde of circus clowns. Meanwhile, Randolph and Mortimer hatched yet another get-rich-quick-again scheme, only to be stopped in their efforts by Louis and Billy Ray. And, on the other side of town, a mysterious egg shaped object appeared to.....No, wait! That's my soap opera.

I'm kind of in the same situation, despite having found a group of good folks who kindly let me join them. You guys already know how my year's been, so you can probably imagine how gaming hasn't made it very high on the "have time to do" list.

I've tried PbPs in the past, but I usually end up running them, instead of playing. My PbP site of choice has been www.roleplaymarket.com, because of the really cool mapping and scripting features. Unfortunately, I've spent an exorbitant amount of time developing products that use those tools, which means I didn't have the time to run the games the way I wanted to. As a result, I've had to put all of my PbP games (I was running two separate campaigns) on hiatus.

In the interim, I've simply decided to indoctrinate...er, I mean...teach my 8yo daughters to play. ;) (Sure would be nice to have those Pathfinder Intro/Basic/Lite rules to use.)
