Liberty's Edge

I have been working hard on outlines, format guides, and some other stuff for my super fun future project. I have been rather absent as a result. That said, I really wish I could have gotten this done before the weekend was over.

But I am almost finished!

Liberty's Edge

A friend and I were discussing Star Wars RPG. He's been thinking about running a campaign with his younger brother, Treppa, and I. He's already started generating a fairly long list of houserules in between my complaints about parts of SAGA edition not being as fun as in Pathfinder.

So it suddenly dawns on us, why don't we go back to the Revised Core Rulebook* and update it to Pathfinder Standard? We're taking a look at skill consolidation, fixing feats, marrying BAB/HD and a whole host of other changes in order to bring the old d20 game back to life.

We sat down and started looking at it, and realized that it's been a really long time since either one of us has really looked at it for play. We were left scratching our heads trying to figure out how we're going to tackle this, but I think we've got the ball rolling by bothing figuring out what minimum changes would need to be made in order to get it up and running again.

*RCR is the d20 edition of Star Wars that existed during the 3.5 era of D&D (for those unfamiliar). It follows many of the same tropes. SAGA seems to be a test bed for many of the ideas that went into 4e and in someways is a very basic form of d20 in a modular format. We decided to skip pathfinderizing SAGA and went straight for RCR due to rules similarities.

I do like the Star Wars d20 stuff.

Dude your fine.

Freaking DVR cut off before I could see the final match. Good thing I never watch this show or I would have been pissed.

Getting ready to go to the hospital for our ultrasound. Hopefully, I'll be able to bring you reports of man-child a bit later.

After that, I get to sit around waiting for the HVAC guy to come and take a look at my furnace. Went to turn it on last night and it made some funny sounds - kinda like a fan or motor going bad. We'll see. At least I caught it before it got really cold.

Later folks. Everyone have a good day.

Ah, I guess you didn't see it in time.

Enjoy Jude. He's into feeding and pooping and lots of erratic sleeping. After a while, he'll start looking around. If he starts smiling soon, medical people will tell you it's just gas. Be prepared to be sceptical of what they tell you.

Hey, Jude. :)

(I'm sure that isn't the first time, nor will it be the last time, you've heard that. I just wanted to get it out there before Sharoth)

Goooooooooooooooooooooood morning Fawlty House!!!

Well, I'm worked through the majority of my frustration over PC paranoia and am now working on the next installment of the Darklight Sisterhood game. Now, I'm planning for spills chills and thrills that do not involve tables in any way shape or form and hope the party catches on. Also, Slain, the Paperwork Dragon, has been slain once more. I'm ready for the last quarter of the calendar year with a minimum of muss and fuss.

On a serious note, I've heard reports of violence around some of my most beloved second job venues and neighborhoods aimed at gay men. This shocks me beyond belief- one was in a bar that is older than most of us put together and has been a cheerful and safe part of the neighborhood for YEARS and the other was on the street in a swanky part of town. I'm going to a meeting at the second job on Thursday, possibly to discuss these incidents, which insult and disgust me on both professional and personal levels. YES, I live in NY and we're all used to some level of violent stupidity, but this goes above and beyond.

Man, he is going to HATE the song based on his name when he grows up. Either that, or his nickname is going to be "Hey".

Enjoy your new addition.

Go for it man. It's a good opporunity. My mom used to do that, and now she does another version of it online. I'll talk to her about it and see if she's still getting paid for it or what.

That's really unfortunate though. I think there's a link between poor customer service and the rise in certain companies becoming near-monopolies on certain services with the lack of secret shoppers.

And oh yeah! Forgot to mention I had an interesting dream last night. I dreamt the entire old school GI Joe series- but as an anime! And SUBTITLED!!! It was really interesting! For some reason Air-tight was a bishonen, and the machine guns were not on their customary "Shoot to miss" setting, but beyond that the dream was fascinating.

Somehow you missed the "Directed by Joss Whedon" line in the indicia.

Stupid dream-insertion machine!

It wasn't nearly emo enough for it to have been Whedonesque.

As a kid, I would have gone out of my way to befriend a kid named Thundarr Optimus Abercrombie. Although I'd always feel his lesser so having such a nitro-charged name.

I spoke with the wife the other day and went down the list of names I wanted our kid to have. I didn't get halfway through before I had a concussion due to repeated strikes to the head.

Talk about expectations... I just helped a customer with the first name Thor, and thought to myself, "what were his parents thinking? Awesome name, but what if he grew up to be a soft-spoken accountant?" I have no idea what he looked like, but Thor is setting the bar pretty high.

Well if he turns into a Swede heavyweight boxer with a murderous uppercut, they'll call the punch The Hammer and say, "it's like his parents... knew."
