Bugs will consume the world.
I refer you to my earlier post.
And though I stand bloody and battered, I know I must fight on. Blood has been spilled, and blood has yet to be spilled, for I shall let it flow as a river until all who stand against this nation are vanquished.
I am unstoppable.
I am a monolith among mortals.
I am a juggernaut.
I am your Death.Come, and die on the end of my blade.
Someday I will be heralded as the savior of mankind. Or I'll be locked in a padded cell for running around some guys yard with a broadsword stabbing ant mounds.

Don't worry, I didn't forget you. You will be the last man alive, dying atop a mountain of dead insects as they swarm over your defiant corpse, a true hero.

No, it doesn't. And it's not the way I wanted to start off my Friday.
However, I now have a newly reawakened desire to finally get the problem fixed.
Either that, or fill in the basement with concrete.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I love having a basement, just not this basement anymore. But, I was discussing the issue with a friend/co-worker, and he provided me with new insight into what the problem might be. So, it's time to try some things and see if I can't take care of the problem once and for all.

![]() |

That might be part of it. :)
Seriously though, we're thinking it could be my downspouts. They drop right into some pipes coming out the ground, and from there I assume they go out to the sewer line, but I'm not sure about that. And if that is the case, there could be a problem with the lines themselves (corrosion, pitting, etc) that's causing the water to just leak right out, saturate the ground, and make its way into the basement.

I remember some TV people interviewed the Bushes about their Crawford ranch. The house is very intelligently designed. I remember a lot of blah blah about water. Except, of course, for what the blah-blah was. I always thought I'd get hold of that and watch it again if I was were suddenly inundated with money and needed to build a house with a lot of expensive design put into it.

I've expressed a desire to the wife to one day design and build our own home. I've already started making some simple sketches, and a priority list of features. For starters:
1. Plenty of storage space.
2. At least 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
3. Tower
4. Library with built-in shelves for (a) books, (b) comics.
5. Brew room, preferably complete with sink and stove.
Edit: And, as far as intelligent design goes, I'd run as much of the plumbing, AC, etc through a central trunk that can be walked into like a closet.

Yeah, I've informed the wife about the Tower. I've also explained that those faux towers that are actually just entry ways or simply the stairwell between floors are not true towers. And that the Tower must be mine. The wife is clear on towers, and perhaps a little sick of hearing about them.
My idea for the Tower is to have each level be a big open room. 1st level would be where I can have a TV and maybe some work out equipment (treadmill, ab-lounger, Wii fit). There would be stairs against the wall, going up to the second level, and down to the basement. Second and third levels would be given over to my study/library, maybe a game room. Basement would be where I can have tools, etc, maybe a safe, stuff like that.

I hope your doc is able to help. I found Imitrex to be totally awesome and, for the moment, completely out of reach financially. It has some side effects and warnings, so scrutinize it carefully before you go with it. But if it's offered, definitely something to consider.
There are lots of preventive measures you can take and some non-drug things. Acupressure near the thumb joint and top of the orbit is actually effective (for me) for both pain and nausea - but it stops as soon as the pressure is removed. Ice can help. Avoiding some foods (and all alcohol) can help prevent them. Good luck with the doc. May he be sympathetic!
Never had the pill form, but when I resorted to the injectible back in the mid 90's....whoah. It was like a head rush clearing house.
That said, wouldn't they have affordable generics by now? I haven't done the research to see, but I'd figure it's been enough time for the patent to pass that point...

Urizen: Hope your new regimen and dosage works well for you.
Second day. It's the minimum allotment for now as I tend to be sensitive to levels where folks would consider it maintenance and not bat an eyelash. I really need to regain my focus and cut back on the distractions.

Wheels are now in motion.
BTW, thanks for the news on Kaidan. Of course, that would move forward, and as patronage, at the time I can do nothing about it. Did I mention "of course?" Of course.

Good Morning, FAWTL. A friend of mine had an extra ticket for club level at the hockey game last night, so fun was had by all (even though the team didn't play very well). Unfortunately there was a young women there who (after 4 or 5 glasses of wine) start screaming for the Wild to do something, however she was always just a bit behind. We would get the puck and she would yell "Defense", etc. But other then that quite a bit of fun.
And Ashe your water is coming this way, sections of St Paul are closed to prepare for possible flooding.

Understandable. The only thing you can hope for ... like what happened to another recent project that just completed funding ... is that they're at the straws for a couple more patrons and it's down to the wire ... when he then brings down the patronage buy-in for last minute stragglers where the price is just right for you to be less resistant ... and still feel good about your lighter wallet not being as light.

I was only given four f+#~ing tutoring hours this next week. FOUR. I doubt that I'll be doing anything, and lucky if I'm not cutting subscriptions.

One would think when they get the prestigious doctorate that the doors would be opening up as you march triumphantly across the Rubicon. Meh. I feel for you, Prof. :/

Forgot to say hi to Patrick and Devlyn. Hi!
Charnie is in Scott Gable's hands. Hopefully, it'll show up soon on the website. My portion of the detailed outline for exciting, secret project 1 is done. Next come art briefs and some rules development. Wheeeee!
Ah yes! Good luck, Badgah! Maybe someone could .... throw Shiny a bone?
