I'm not so sure about ursine-blooded being cool. Part of that is too close to asinine.

Aww, come on naked badger- I'd rather have this than Civil War or whatever he did to ruin Marvel.

True. He and Grant Morrison are best when they're not leveling a shared universe. :)

Clicky-tech isn't *quite* as reviled as it once was. Although, the reason for that is the old-timers are using the massive mechs on 2-inch hex grids for Solaris battles. teh awesome
Definitely take a look at Shadowrun 4th Edition. They've moved the timeline up another decade (to 2072) and have made the Matrix a LOT more fun. It's now wireless, so deckers are now hackers again and GO on missions since it's easiest to hack at the location; and the Otaku have grown up into Technomancers. I'd get into more but a LOT has changed and it's easier to just check out the books. I highly recommend Emergence to catch up on the metaplot/setting update.

Yeah this was me too. I was like "Whoh" when she just went to town on that room of Drug Dealers and then again when she shot the sh!t out of Frank's Goons.
But I agree, she was the best character there. :)Plus Nic Cage's Adam West-Batman dialog killed me.
I don't particulaly like Nic Cage, but yeah, he did nail the Adam West-Batman bit didn't he. Although so does this guy...

I completely and totally agree, and would add Joss Whedon to that list. They're all talented, and noone is saying they should never work again ever(save me when it comes to Whedon), just that they should keep their ladels out of certain pots.

By brother-in-law and I were discussing the *other* movie and felt that if you took out the ... non-kid-friendly bits, it was an exact episode of the old show.

Who'd Whedon screw up? Was it Spiderman? I thought I heard that somewhere....

No, X-Men and Runaways.

Some Firefly fans were very upset by the deaths that occurred in Serenity.
Having been a long-time Buffy/Angel fan, the deaths, although harsh, didn't sour me against Joss (and I look forward to his take on the Avengers - with Nate Fillion as Ant-Man!!!!)

Not familiar with Runaways. And I had stopped collecting X-men years ago. Still, that's a shame. I've generally liked Whedon's TV work.

That's one movie I'll be watching only to ruin it for everyone else in the theatre.
I can't wait for the emosplosions.

By the way, if you get a chance, pick up Float-out, a Firefly-universe one-shot written by Patton Oswalt (Yeah, I know! Right?) which has a final page that should please a LOT of disgruntled fans a bit...

I know it was amazingly accurate for that kind of movie.

Good Morning Fawtlies! How is everyone this fine morning?
Jeremy! Congrats man! Thats awesome.
Matt/Ashe, welcome back, been a while. Please take the time to re review the rules. No religion, no politics, no football (except during Superbowl), and if you land on Top of the Pages You must get nekkid! Thank you and again, welcome back!
Treppa, thank you for handling those pesky politics demons last night, I was .....uh,....uhm....indisposed. We shall discuss compensation at a later date.
I see now even Gary is vying for TOP! Heh, I think he just wants to get nekkid and strut his stuff. :)
Taig, congrats on your sons birthday and impending license. How did he do?
Pat! 17? Oh please don;t let my kids turn into teens.
One of the kids I used to babysit recently friended me on FB. I was floored to see that she had a kid of her own. THAT made me feel old. Kellen turning 8 also helps.
Been a good morning here so far. We over slept a bit and hubby was 10 min late for work. But Arden slept over at her friends house and is headed to the movies today with them. So it is just me and the boys. After a quick trip to the Doc's for Kellen's script we are now cuddled up watching Cars and talking about Xmen. :)

I think I may stay off the boards for a few days. Talk to you guys soon.
Does this have anything to do with the "marathon" that you want to "talk your wife into" because the "kids are out of town"? If so, here is your permission slip. Otherwise, git yr ass back in here rait now!

We sell the uhm..not so kid friendly movie. Did you know that they actually hired the original costume designer to do the costumes for it? I have yet to see it but from customer reviews and my co workers POV, its pretty great. I may have to bring it home tomorrow to see. :)

Momma always warned me about seafood outside of Louisiana.
Louisiana? Fish should be Cod; it should be fried; it should come wrapped in newspaper; it should be eaten with earshot of the bells of Marylebone.
That's the way to do it!

Yeah, I'm not too comfortable with all the "breaks" some of us is taking. If it is b/c of the wars going on in other threads just post here in our happy home. :(

Interview me? Aww, shucks... *blush*
Well, I was mostly lurking. I'm a pretty heavy poster over at CandleKeep and on FaceBook more these days. But mostly it's because of work and life just piling up. I'm trying to make some (big) changes that I can't really get into and it takes up a lot of time and energy.
I've also been helping a friend as she's writing a novel, detailing three different campaigns (a home-brew Pathfinder, a d20 Modern Flash Gordon and a Shadowrun campaign), compiling a complete listing of all the published deployments of BattleTech units and catching up on some reading.
Oh, we have PLENTY of time here to get into big changes. Not that we are nosy or anything. No way.
Q2: Candlekeep, eh? We noticed you also have a penchant for song. Art thou a Harper, perchance?

Loser!
So, um, you do that too? Good to know.
I uh....I have been known to do this occasionally. When I is feeling a bit lonely. :)

A beautiful song for my friends.
Good night guys.

Not a Harper myself, but friend to many that Harp. ;) Actually, I'm trying to get Ed Greenwood to write into canon that Ashe has the Warblade (Ary'Velahr'Kerym) of Myth Drannor. So far, he's resisted all my tricks.

Q3: So, you admit to using underhanded tricks to get what you want. I'm sure our Fawtly readers would be interested in hearing more about that. What are a couple of the most embarrassing examples? Do they all involve lovable old hippies? Creative material that doesn't belong to you?

Mainly just pleading, whining and bringing it up every chance I get. Oh, and making sure to keep the Lady Hooded One thoroughly entertained. ;)
