Good for you. He's not worth it. I don't think he's read a response he's been given.
Sock puppet??

I will not respond to him again. His last response to me really showed me how much an @$$ he truly is. His comment about how nothing in the Bible should need to be taken in context really got to me. I could be an @$$ back, but it would devolve into a shouting match. He's out to "prove" that Christians are morons.

Grrr.

I really wasn't that bad today. It's amazing how one poster can really set things off...

Shame we can't have a separate forum without the riff and the raff. I've been cracking through the Old Testament and I've come to the opinion that...

** spoiler omitted **

Damn. That makes a twisted kinda sense.

Well, Phil and Julie were caught in a compromising position by Julie's pet parakeet, and somehow video evidence ended up on Youtube. Downtown, Bart and Maggie decided that they'd rather spend the rest of their lives in prison than let the mayor get away with his dastardly plan to seize direct control of the city's animal hospitals. Meanwhile, Angus' resolve was slowly being worn down by Natalie's sultry.......No, wait! That's my soap opera.

It is against the rules, chapter five section 3 Mondays must be worse then any other day of the week. Others days may start worse but have to get better Mondays do not.

Hmmmm....seems like I've had lots of "against the rules" days. Oh well, back to work. Later folks.

It depends. Someone new came on and basically said that all religion was crap because of "moral absolutism" (or some such). I'm trying to get a different take on what people feel is "moral" and where it becomes more "moral" to force it on others. Something that a lot of people kind of bring up but don't really address -- at least not clearly.

I have to disagree with you on a small point here, Moff.

I don't think it is hard to figure out at all. :) The new poster entered the discussion without intending to discuss anything but rather with the intention of telling everyone how wrong they were.

A "dictator" rather than a "learner".

Carry on.

Yeah. Thanks. I thought I'd try to get him to learn what a "conversation" or "discussion" actually looked like. You'd think I'd learn.
You can't get blood from a stone, man! He's not there to debate, he's there because he's pissed at organized religon for some past wrong. The thing is, I can see where he's coming from, and I've heard his points argued(albeit more courteously) before- some of it can be quite fascinating. But like I said, he's not there to debate. What keeps me sane with such posters in such topics is the old saying about the broken, stopped clock. A stopped one is right twice a day, and as since it can't be repaired, you should leave it alone. Because if you try to fix it, due to its irreprable nature, it will be wrong all the time and you'll be frustrated. Or something like that. I think it's a rhyme in another language, I have to look it up sometime.

How ever everyone else is chiming in; And doing so civilly, which is a nice change of pace.

I swear to all that's holy, I can't even watch crime dramas anymore. I don't know if it was because I grew up addicted to Encyclopedia Brown, then The Hardy Boys, then Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie; but I figure EVERYTHING out before the shows from the slightest hint of a clue.

Either that or the writers are extremely lazy anymore.

~laughter~ Oh, the writers are lazy and most of the people who watch it do not want to think.

I don't know about this one...Such writings have spoiled an entire genre/generation of readers by having them constantly wonder ahead or search for spoilers or conditioning them to look for errors. Particularly the Hardy Boys(I preferred Nancy Drew for some reason). Most things are written in a way that follow a natural, logical progression, it's not necessarily laziness, stupidity or intelligence. Sometimes you've just seen it all before and just know what's coming before it arrives. It is equal parts burden and joy.

[EDIT]Naked ruminating for TOP...

I wish I could agree. however this is not a FAWTL discussion, it should be a movie thread discussion. BTTH should be our thought in this thread.

No I can not say that I have. Did you dream you did not in fact have a thumb?

No. Just that I couldn't move it -- like it was paralyzed or something. (I didn't even remember that part of the dream until I noticed that I could move my thumb and thought that was strange.)

Let me check what it says. Nope most holidays are exempt. Except when traveling to see the in-laws which allows it to get much worse. Damn I knew there was a reason I didn't like to travel to Oklahoma.

The only thing Saul got going for him is that he was 'tall'. Samuel dropped the ball on that pick.
