Well, Phil and Julie were caught in a compromising position by Julie's pet parakeet, and somehow video evidence ended up on Youtube. Downtown, Bart and Maggie decided that they'd rather spend the rest of their lives in prison than let the mayor get away with his dastardly plan to seize direct control of the city's animal hospitals. Meanwhile, Angus' resolve was slowly being worn down by Natalie's sultry.......No, wait! That's my soap opera.

You can't get blood from a stone, man! He's not there to debate, he's there because he's pissed at organized religon for some past wrong. The thing is, I can see where he's coming from, and I've heard his points argued(albeit more courteously) before- some of it can be quite fascinating. But like I said, he's not there to debate. What keeps me sane with such posters in such topics is the old saying about the broken, stopped clock. A stopped one is right twice a day, and as since it can't be repaired, you should leave it alone. Because if you try to fix it, due to its irreprable nature, it will be wrong all the time and you'll be frustrated. Or something like that. It depends. Someone new came on and basically said that all religion was crap because of "moral absolutism" (or some such). Hard to figure out because he came out of the chute hot and strong and wasn't really talking about anything specific. Clarifications have pretty well been useless. I'm trying to get a different take on what people feel is "moral" and where it becomes more "moral" to force it on others. Something that a lot of people kind of bring up but don't really address -- at least not clearly.I have to disagree with you on a small point here, Moff.
I don't think it is hard to figure out at all. :) The new poster entered the discussion without intending to discuss anything but rather with the intention of telling everyone how wrong they were.

I swear to all that's holy, I can't even watch crime dramas anymore. I don't know if it was because I grew up addicted to Encyclopedia Brown, then The Hardy Boys, then Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie; but I figure EVERYTHING out before the shows from the slightest hint of a clue.
Either that or the writers are extremely lazy anymore.
I don't know about this one...Such writings have spoiled an entire genre/generation of readers by having them constantly wonder ahead or search for spoilers or conditioning them to look for errors. Particularly the Hardy Boys(I preferred Nancy Drew for some reason). Most things are written in a way that follow a natural, logical progression, it's not necessarily laziness, stupidity or intelligence. Sometimes you've just seen it all before and just know what's coming before it arrives. It is equal parts burden and joy.
