I'm sure their families would love them.

(Of course, they're taking so much grief from both of their families about it being an interracial marriage that the families are not likely to be enthused about any engagement photos - wet t-shirt or otherwise.)

Anyway, it sounds like dinner is on whether they do photos today or not, so that's good news.

Enjoy the dinner, creating and consuming it.

I read stuff like that in your parenthetical statement, and it takes me a while to reconcile that with us being several years into the new millennium. :S

Morning all. How has everyone been? Not reading the 10 pages I am behind. Couldn't log on again all week. :(

All ya'll on both sides of the quality of Stephen King debate might want to check out author Joe Hill. He writes like King used to (not surprising since he's King's son). He also worked on a graphic novel series called 'Locke and Key'. Very good work.

Going to fix brunch for teh family. Eggs with ham and cheese, biscuits, banana's. Mmmm. Coffee and tea. I love Sunday mornings.

Regarding the "King Arguments", I HOPE that he's considered one of our premier authors in generations to come.

As compared to Sidney Sheldon (6th best selling of all time) Danielle Steel (8th best selling of all time) and Jackie Collins (13th of all time). Or, to put it in perspective, Sidney has sold more books Dr. Seuss has, Danielle has sold more books than Leo Tolstoy has and and Jackie's sold just as many as J.K. Rowling. And they all outsell Stephen by a wide margin.

*shudder* I'm fearful at future generations thinking these three may be considered some of our "literary elite".

I wouldn't lose too much sleep. Since the era of widespread literacy began (late 18th century really) there have been "potboilers". If you take a course in Victorian Literature, that won't be what you're reading. In fact, those books are largely forgotten (unless you consider Dickens a potboiler author, which I don't). Subsequent generations are usually much better at separating the wheat from the chaff than people are at the time.

It was effed up.

Let me preface this a bit....my dad kept bees when I was a kid, so I know how to handle stings...

So I'm driving i-30, 55 mph, and I see this cloud of what looks like...mud spraying up from the side of the road; I'm like "what's that?" so i hear "TAK! TAK! TAKTAKTAK!" and all I see are insect guts and small, triangular heads on my windshield. Oh. I hit a swarm of bees, or wasps, or something.

THEN,
(I'm sorta allergic maybe don't need epi my mom has epi for stings though)
I feel one crawling in my hair. I've been stung 10 times in 5 seconds by a yellowjacket before, and I couldn't i.d. the species from heads and guts alone. So I says to myself, "I have to grab this thing and crush it with my hand. I will get stung at least once. It may save me from getting stung in the head ten times."
So I grab it. It stings me in the thumb. I crunch it.
I see it's little rosethorn stinger in my thumb; flick it out with the other thumb.
It was a honeybee. They only sting once and die.
So I drove home, took Benadryl, and had a nice nap.

You might find this interesting then.

No Waffle House until now? How did you survive? What was your preference... plain, smothered, or covered? How could you understand the Bloodhouse Gang? Poor, uncultured guy.
