It's funny that our little playhouse is viewed as pure chaos, but we keep it that way by following our rules. :S

I gather you're home safely?

I missed a chunk of FaWTLy-ness, everything between Sharoth getting robbed and Jyu1ch1's last TotP... sorry all.

Jeremy: I'm certainly glad that your hubbie is finally home, and saddened by your news of your mother-in-law's cancer diagnosis. I sincerely hope she pulls through quickly and that you all can remain in high spirits throughout the ordeal.

Taig: Knowing the end is coming for a loved one must still be no consolation when it finally happens. I haven't lost a parent yet, so I'm ill prepared to know how to offer comfort and solace. I hope you and your family will manage to navigate through these difficult times, and remember your mom for all the good experiences you shared with her.

And yes, you are an award-winning badger in my eyes. :)

Aberzombie: Congrats on the expectant little bundle of joy! You might want to skip the next batch of beer though, and bottle sleep instead.

Moorluck: Hope the new job is treating you well.

Lumpy, aka Sharoth: And I hope your life is returning at least somewhat back to normal after the break in.

*sigh* And so it begins Alex gets home on Thursday, and my mother-in-law just dropped the bomb. She has a meeting with the oncologist on tuesday, she has 5 lesions on her lung and it's confirmed cancer. She starts chemo treatment tuesday as well.

Sorry, man.

taig wrote:

So, yeah, cancer:

It claimed my mom last night at 10:30. I just got the call from my aunt.

Also, my son's kindergarten teacher, who we still keep in contact with, found out she has Type 3 lung cancer.

Wow. Symapathies, bro.

Scarab Sages

Just checking in after a long day of gaming:

Taig - sorry to hear about your mom dude.

Jeremy - sorry to hear about your mom-in-law, and I hope she does well.

As for future spawnlet - thanks all. I'm really looking forward to being a dad.

Scarab Sages

And now, off to check FB for a bit, then spend a bit of time reading the APG.

Slow day today..... Ah I see Urizen has not been on.

How is everybody?

Bleh. Just settling into bed when wife was called into work. Some dumbsh!t tourist tried filling up his boat's gas tank, not realizing there was a huge flipping hole in it. Time to call in the hazmat team ... *sigh*

Might as well catch up on what's going on roundabouts. Got 8 quarts of dilly beans canned up tonight, and a sh!tton of weeding done on the ranch. Picked a few nice tomatoes and summer squash. Had a nice fry up of squash and green beans with some steak I found on sale for a very nice price and some mashed taters.

All in all a decent day (except for the ending )

Oh the trails and tribulations of humanity.

I hope she gets done soon and gets to get home to you.

Thanks CJ. I'm sure she'll be back fairly soonish, assuming the EPA and fire dept don't keep her filling out forms all night *sigh*

LOL actually assuming the EPA can be found on a sat night =P

Made my self some skillet steak with crinkle cut fries and cheddar & broccoli rice. Washed down with a cold Yuengling and they relaxed a bit.

Then, I got $200 for the old bedroom set that I've kept way too long, making some space in the apartment, clearing out memories, getting some cash and making the upcoming move a lot easier...

I bet. We had a big garage sale when we last moved and I think we still have way too darn much stuff.

Well, I finally sold the 4 longboxes of comics last year - for $75. Now, I can't really complain because I spent most of the previous ten years systematically selling off the more valued parts of my collection on eBay with perfect timing (sold the Spidey books right after the first Spiderman movie, then the bulk of my Batman books right before Dark Knight). So the books that were left were mainly books that I couldn't get rid of on eBay (like the complete Who's Who series from DC). I've also been selling off some of my gaming books (since I've had digital copies since before it was considered piracy). Next up, I'm going to try and sell of my magic cards. According to the various sources I've been looking at, they should be between $1250-$1500.

Meh. Paint eyes on two popsicle sticks, slap hanks of dog fur on their top and bottom, toss them in a martini and get the camera. Done and done.

It wouldn't be the same man.... it'd probably be better.

I rank those two troll looking things along side of Sandra Burndhart for sex appeal.

Glad you're back, Moorluck.

Anybody talked to the badger?

Not since he posted the sad news. Wife dropped him an E-mail to see if there was anything we could do for him.

You ever wonder if Bill Clinton became a governor because of Blazing Saddles?

No. But I have wondered if he ran just so he could order a Big Mac at 9am.

That's a real hard road. I hadda fly home from TX when my mother passed, then had to deal with all the arrangements, then go back to TX after. She went real quick, no warning (heart) and it was quite a shock.

Poor badgah.

Morning Moorluck! Me too. Got five hours in, got a lot of stuff to get done this morning. Finding motivation hard to come by :/

Howdy Patrick, Moorluck. Hope things go well today. Right now I'm debating whether I want to do my grocery shopping first, or cut the grass. It's looking cloudy out there, so I think I'll go with the grocery shopping, and hope that it rains. Then I can put off cutting the grass for another day or so.

Had a blast last night. Pretty sure I have one of the best hubby's in the world. He drives 21 hours straight through home and then last night watches the kids so that I can hang out with the girls to celebrate my birthday!
Hung out with a couple of teh girls from work and Katie from next door. Hit on one of my employees and she actually responded favorably! Which rocks, since I have kinda had a thing for her for months, Suck part? She is moving in two weeks.

Yeah, gots a lot of weeding to do, but I'm wicked tired ATM. Wife had a call out until almost 1am, and I ended up spending lots of time on the comp waiting for her. I need to get some fish emulsion and water on my plants though

I know that times like these, while sad, are also always very busy. There's always a million things to be attended to, so it wouldn't surprise me if he's incredibly busy right now.

We'll have to post lots of silliness for him to catch up on when he has a chance, though.

Silver Crusade

Morning, all. What did I miss?

Silver Crusade

I had a lot of capers in Italy. I've always liked them, but I never realized how versatile they are. I suspect I'm going to start putting them in everything. I added them to my signature vegetable pasta last night, and it was delicious.

Have to work today, I no wanna work on a Sunday. :(
