Precursor Races of Golarion

I'm curious about the nonhuman civilized races on the surface of Golarion pre-Azlant.

I can think of four that have been specifically called out: aboleths (undersea only), cyclopes, elves, and serpentfolk.

Dwarves and orcs dwelled exclusively in the Darklands pre-Earthfall; conversely, serpentfolk were apparently driven into the Darklands by the Azlanti. Gnomes were only in the First World pre-Age of Darkness.

I don't recall when halflings appeared, I'm thinking they are contemporaneous with humans.

Does that list look correct? Were there any other significent civilized races on Golarion in the distant past that have been mentioned?

That looks about right to me.

There is whatever built the city that is now ruins in the polar region. But there has not been anything beyond mentioning they are older than the aboleth.

All the mentions of halflings' past refer to them havign always been there alongside humans. I am hoping the Halflings of Golarion goes more into that.

I thought I read that the Trogs were originally a Precursor race?

Yes, here:

Side note, anyone else notice their musk is gone in Pathfinder?

As a side note, does anyone notice I have a wisdom of 8 and no ranks in perception?

*hangs head* (I was expecting a seperate entry)

A bunch of the creature unique abilities were turned into "generic" creature abilities so that the descriptions could be moved out of the creature entries -- e.g. djinni whirlwind.

According to the hell gigas description, the titans were the first races, and they birthed the various types of gigas on the planes, and the gias spawned the giants.

If you want to count them, there's also the Vault Keepers, who built Orv's vaults deep beneath the world in some ancient age, magically reinforcing their walls and altering their climates to allow for the working ecosystems that are now down there.

If you're considering precursor races on Golarion, you absolutely SHOULD count the Vault Keepers. Other races that I know for a fact are super old include the neothelids and the aboleths, both of whom had wars with each other and the Vault Keepers. Pech also, since they served the Vault Keepers as slaves (and since pech eventually "mutated" into derro... you could even include derro in this list, even though that "mutation" happened long after mortal races appeared).
