The Tobongo has no XP entry, with a CR of 12 it should be 19,200.
There is no Description entry either. I assume is is like a regular treant.

The Exchange

I've updated the Tobongo on d20pfsrd.com with the XP value but not sure about the description.

The XP is easy enough to figure out... still annoying that its entry got left out.

As for its missing description... I'm not sure what to say there apart from the fact that its rules text got too big. We probably should have removed or at least shortened its curse of barkflesh ability and/or its shake the earth ability to make room for its description. Fortunately, it is pretty close to a treant in role, so you can use the treant flavor text for tobongos.

One thing we ARE trying to do is to make sure new monster stat blocks take up, at most, half a page. We'll be pulling monsters from these books eventually for reprinting in hardcover bestiaries down the line, after all, and a monster that doesn't fit on one page WITH a few paragraphs of flavor text has a MUCH reduced chance of ever being reprinted.

Or you could print hardcover bestiaries with 2-page spreads for each monster; I love those bestiary entries in the APs :)

(yeah, yeah, I know: Half the monsters for the same price would probably make less people buy the hardcover)

I cannot, for I did not work on that product directly. I'm not even sure it HAD a description to get cut, to be honest! :P But I'll ask around...

The goal of a hardcover bestiary is not to bloat a monster with cool flavor text. That's the goal of a Pathfinder Adventure Path bestiary. The hardcovers need to strike a stronger balance between text and stats. And honestly, I really REALLY like the balance we hit with the Bestiary, with the majority of the monsters being only 1 page long. Especially since that makes it really easy to paginate the book. Every 2-page monster we put in kind of wreaks havoc, since they have to start on a left-hand page...

It's true—sometimes monsters are just too big to fit safely on one page. Since this was basically a variant treant, we decided to cut flavor text instead of its cool rules abilities. Here's the rough description that was cut:

"Towering tobongos reside only in the Mwangi Expanse's deepest jungles, and rarely involve themselves with the activities of men and their kind. With a lifespan of thousands of years, they act slowly, but on those matters that concern them most, they stand firm and resolute. They are particularly impartial toward those acts they deem threatening to their homelands, such as colonial expansionism, industrial mining, and any type of deforestation. To keep in contact with their territories and the activities of outsiders, tobongos often wander, and can live happily in isolation for years as they gather information the desire."
