Mwk leather armor - any point?

Rules Questions

Is there any point to having masterwork leather armor? If masterwork armor just reduces armor check penalty, and leather armor has no armor check penalty, then it seems like adding the masterwork quality does nothing other than make it more expensive.

Although obviously it has to be masterwork if you plan to enchant it later. But aside from that? Am I missing something?

No there is no point to masterwork leather or padded armor...other then enchanting it.

It's a good way for a DM to throw loot at the party that has significant weight. Makes the party consider their resources.

So you'd let yourself be seen wearing common armour?

I guess it's okay if you're a base peasant, but there are people who actually matter, who cannot be seen walking around like some orc with scavenged armour, you know...

Sovereign Court

Only the difference between a $100 suit and a $1,000 suit. If you're gunning for a job as VP of AdventureCo, the Gucci suit will look more professional than the Men's Warehouse.
