Does the spell Nondetection work against Arcane Sight? Or would you use Misdirection to block that?

No. There are two schools of thought on how ND works, and it caused quite a firestorm on the WoTC boards. One school of ND thought says that ND only blocks detection, location, and Scrying spells. Of which Arcane Sight isnt any of those.

The second school of thought, the one i subscribe to, says that ND goes into effect "when a divination is attempted against the warded creature...." Arcane Sight has a target of you(IIRC, away from books atm), so nothing is attempted against the warded creature. So either way, I dont believe it works.

I hope these links can help.

Thanks. After reading that migraine inducing thread, I agree with you. Nondetection doesn't work against Arcane Sight because arcane sight doesn't interact with a target, it enhances the subjects vision.

Misdirection is what you want to block arcane sight, I believe.

Thanks for the help!

I disagree and personally run it that it does work. Non-detection is like putting on a cloak that screws up divination of any kind wether it is directly targeted at the subject of the non-detection or not. But it's up to you how you choose to run it in your game.

Works in my game too, I made a thread about it a white back. Posting on my phone so I'll post a link later. I do allow the caster level check though.
The party wizard has AS permanencied, so every few levels I throw a ND baddie at him. The rest pf the time he spots invisible ambushers quite happily.

Obviously it's an issue that there's a lot of disagreement on. I figure if it was supposed to block all divinations then the description would say that.

+1 to that. Go ahead and read those links. I post as spitewrathatred on those boards. In about a month my gaming group will be fully converting to PF and then I can leave the WoTC boards finally.

I read through the one on true seeing. I might not read the one on true strike, because that seems like a silly question to me. Thanks for posting the links!
