Hi all,

I've been playing around with a monkey familiar, but I'm having trouble reconciling its skills.

According to the Bestiary p132 a monkey has Acrobatics +10, Climb +10, and Perception +5. These are all class skills.

The only one I can make work is Perception (+3 class, +1 skill rank, +1 wisdom = 5).

I make the others out to be:
Acrobatics +13 (+8 racial, +3 class, +2 dex)
Climb +5 (+3 class, +2 dex)

What am I missing?

Acrobatics shouldn't have the +3 class bonus with no ranks, so it's just +8 racial +2 dex.

Same thin with climb, although that doesn't explain the high skill - either the monkey has five ranks in climb (somehow I doubt a monkey has that many hit die) or there is a racial bonus to climb?

Ah brilliant!

The Bestiary only mentions +8 racial for Acrobatics. I'm thinking that needs to apply to Climb as well.

Monkeys have a climb speed. Climb speed gives you a bonus on climb checks, just like a swim speed gives a bonus on swim checks.

Thanks guys. That explains everything. Cheers!
