Very fun reveal!
Why do I have the feeling that we're going to be finding out about Haley's dad as well in this plot thread?
This has a "resolving family issues" quality on the event horizon.
Elan: Ewwww Ewww I kissed my sister!
Dad: Don't worry son, Luke and Leia did that...
Haley: Um, dad, we did more than kiss...

Isn't Haley's dad stuck in a prison with bail set at 20,000gp? I don't we're going to be seeing him any time soon.
Unless the Albino Lizardfolk is in chaarge of a prison...

I doubt Burlew would pull THAT much of a jacka$$ move, besides a few points:
1. Elan's dad is LE (although seems to have mellowed a little here); Haley's dad would be some flavour of Chaotic, probably leaning towards good owing to "rob from the rich, give 40% to the poor, after reasonable expenses"
2. Elan's dad was off conquering foreign lands while Haley's dad got kicked out of Greysky by Bozzok so yeah definite power disparity there
3. I'd think there would have been even a hint of recognition before Elan's dad shoved Haley out the window

Oh I never thought he did. I was more gawking at Matthew for even getting it in his head. My brain never even went there.
Blame Rich for the 'I am your father' line putting it there.
Plus I know it's a point of obsession for Star Wars fans (Star Wars Nerds froth about SotME). I doubt Rich would go there too, but it amused me.

Well, what I meant from my original comment was that Haley's Dad is supposedly in the same region as, we have now discovered, as Elan's Dad. Isn't this supposed to be the area where none of these kingdoms stay stable for very long?
So my suggestion was more akin to the Empress of Blood minions, etc having some information about Haley's Dad or some-such. Just seems like the perfect opportunity to resolve all these family issues.

Which is why it won't happen: Rich never resolves everything of one theme in a story arch: Something is always saved for later.

Very good point. He's not yet at Wheel Of Time levels of leaving plot threads hanging, thankfully, but he intentionally does seem to avoid sewing them all up.
