I guess we need some thinking on where in the wide Rifts world the campaign is based or going to start.
There is North America, Europe, Japan, China, Central America, and Africa with sourcebook information.
The default is usually North America with the Coalition States but there are plenty of of other chocies and plenty of nations in North America to base a campaign.

So I've got 3 concepts floating around, one is sort of a mystic gunslinger, ones is a techno wizard and the third is War Machine.
any thoughts?
Think I need to know more about the background, but they all sound good. i was thinking of a vampire assassin or infiltrator, but I think I need a little more info first.

Yeah, I am of the same mind needing a bit more info before making a character choice. There are plenty of good choices to go with and to fill out a group / team (I have ideas for everything from Paladin, to City Rat, to Operator).
I ran across this posting of an oldy but a goody of Apocalyptic Fiction. Someone posted on their blog the opening credits of 'Thundarr the Barbarian'. If you don't know what this is then you missed a good one as a kid (much of it is almost a lift from Gamma World).

Hehe, I'd try to forget Sean Connery in that role. It's been a few years since I think that I last caught Zardoz on the movie channel.
If you would like to see something a little more recent that isn't a true post-apocalyptic flick but is an alternate future.

Nazi's in space!
They've been hiding on the moon and now they're coming back.

I think that Europe could be kwel.
I know North America from living here and not having traveled outside of the continent. I have done plenty of geography and watched travel shows so can get an idea of plenty European locations.
Besides, I'd like to travel, if not in reality then in my mind. :>

Okay, I'm gonna need a tentative concepts of your characters. You will start as a mercenary team or some kind of spec ops team gathered for a specific mission and sent to old Balkans and Levant area of Europe. We will use Rifts for fluff, but d20 for crunch. When you have your concepts, we will do conversions if needs be.

Like I said think of War Machine as a d20 character, now personality and gender to decide.
I'll stat up as 1 and modify as needed I guess. The class is Meccha pilot, but going with power armor instead of a big old mech.
Could you please refer me to the material you plan of using? Both d20 and Rifts?

Are we using the Mana System linked from the conversion pages? I am thinking about making an Arcanist instead of the Wilderness Scout I mentioned earlier.

I think it suits Rifts better than Vancian magic.

Cool. That is one reason I don't like spellcasters. I'll go with arcanist than.

If you spring some clan Smoke Jaguar mechs on us, I'm gonna have to hurt you, he he

Since we have people covering the muscle side of things.
I am thinking of going with an Operator from the Rifts material that you linked.
I will choose a specialty based on the needs of the group and the GM.
I think good choices might be Armour (which includes Power Suits), or Robotics (which fits the original machine theme Nighflier mentioned at the start ~ I could be a double threat / benefit as the Robotic Artifical Intelligence might want to have or control someone who knows Robotics but fear what they might do to reprogram their minions ).
I could also work as a bit of driver for moving people around and operating remotes.
Thoughts?

No more rules then say using the droid rules from d20 Star Wars or Saga Star Wars.
You could though treat them as summoned beings or companion NPCs. There is really nothing specific in the d20 rules currently beyond that robots would be pieces of equipment like a horse or a man-at-arms.
It would be up to the DM to rule on how much autonamy and how much action / control was required for the operation.

Just a quick note to nightflier: Sorry to see you leave Wellard's game. I was looking forward to getting Nathaniel back to Sandpoint and trying to find some common ground. I'll bet that Chel can party. Well maybe not.
I completely understand running two PbPs eating up too much time though. Good luck with those games.

I'm sorry as well, Tom. I had a lot of fun, but my Midnight game has been pulling on my resources so much that I'm afraid I'll even have to pull out of my other pbps as well. And I feel that if I can't give my best as either player or GM, it's better that I don't play at all.
