Gamer in Lockhart, TX

Gamer Connection

I have a friend who has moved to Lockhart and who's looking for a group within driving distance. I'm afraid he has moved into a gaming wilderness, in spite of that fact that nearby San Marcos has a university. Anybody have any leads?

San Marcos might be a good choice, but keep in mind, Austin right there too. It'd probably take him 40-50 minutes (in low traffic times) to get to Dragon's Lair (the biggest and oldest game shop). There were even some folks on the Society threads trying to wrangle a game.

Just a thought.

Yeah, I told him he'd have great luck in Austin, but he said it took him at least an hour, and he was hoping to find something closer. I'll point him to the Dragon's Lair, though. Thanks, Daigle.

We have a group that meets in Cibolo TX. It is farther than Austin, but the people are way better :) We game at my house with the kids running 'round, so I would need to meet him first. But, we might have an opening soon. Let me know if he is interested.

Thanks, Wise Meerkat. I'll mention it to him, but that looks like it would be more than two hours away, so I don't think he'd be willing to drive that far.

I've never been to Lockhart, but I am 65 min. from Half Price Books in San Marcos if there is no traffic. I'm not on Paizo every day, but I will look at this thread for the next week or so.

Hey! I see what you did there! ;)

I am in North Austin, Pflugerville, so probably too far North.

I'm afraid so. But maybe you can confirm the rumor that every night, the citizens of Pflugerville come out and play the Pflugelhorn in the streets.

I am not at liberty to either confirm, nor deny said rumor.

Hi! I'm the guy in question. Thanks for the thread Mairkurion! Ya, it's kind of challenging finding good, sane, gamers in Lockhart. LOL Great barbeque though! LOL I may have found a group in San Marcos but they play 2nd edition. I'm looking for 3.5 d&d/pathfinder. Adam, Meerkat & CourtFool, What versions to you guys play & how often do you get together for games?? I'm sane & a non-smoker, non-drinker, non-drugs, dad. 43 years old. Age doesn't really matter to me as long as the gaming is good..

Sarth -- I should have guessed you'd show up as the former emperor of Vajhoi. :D

A friendly warning, though: you post here once or twice, next thing you know, you're looking for a 12 Step Message-board addiction group.

Hi, my name is silverhair2008, and I am a Paizo Message Board Addict.

(clap clap clap clap clap clap) And the group says, "Hello Silverhair2008!" LOL Mairkurion, Yes, I can see how this could be addicting.... Question: How do you guys put that pic by your name??? That's pretty cool. By the way, I'm still trying to find a group...
Courtfool, I have a dog that looks exactly like your pic! LOL

Sarth: Go to My Account, find the alias Sarth, choose edit, and up will pop pages of avatar pics to choose from. Also, you should to My Downloads and see what freebies are already there to download. Other freebies I can think of that you can download after adding: Wayfinder #1 & #2, Advanced Player's Handbook preview.

Hey Sarth, welcome to the boards! Our group plays Pathfinder, however, the table is filled up with crew that I’ve been playing with for well over a dozen years. This means two things: most of the guys are reluctant to bring in new people, and the current GM is satisfied with the size of the group at the moment.

I’ve been wanting to set up a second game, even if it’s only once a month. The moment I get something like that going, I’ll let you know. As far as I’m concerned, any friend of Mairkurion is bound to be a good guy. (I don’t know how much it matters to you, but I *am* a smoker and a drinker, but I smoke outside and don’t let a few beers affect the game in any negative way.)

I appreciate that man. It means a lot. Mairkurion is a great guy!

It's cool about your group being sewn up for a while. I'm sure I'll find something within the next month or 2. You're a smoker & a drinker huh? I need to sell you some insurance then! LOL It sounds like we'd get along fine. I'm just allergic to the smoke is all. I don't mind drinking at all as long as it doesn't affect the game. Throw in some dancing girls & we've got ourselves a party!!!! ;D

Hey, we finally found a use for Mairkurion.

It is challenging finding good, sane gamers who share your play style anywhere, in my opinion.

None of the above. I do not mix well with D&D. I play Hero and Mutants & Masterminds. I am open to a few other games as well.

Sanity is for the uncreative. I am also a non-smoking, non-drinking, non-illegal drug using dad. I am 39. I do not currently have a group. I have one acquaintance I could call on if I had enough people to fill the rest of the group out. As I mentioned up-thread, I am in Pflugerville, so too far north anyway.

I can quit any time I want.

Oh, Sarth, that avatar picture is just so wrong for the emperor of Vajhoi. Or should I say, former emperor.

HAHAHA That's why I chose that pic. HAHAHA I thought it was kind of funny looking. The drunken, angry, ex emperor. I couldn't find an avatar that was even close to what Sarth looked like.

The REAL reason Sarth lost the throne, not the story put out by the family and royal propaganda machine. :S

Wow, the drunken homeless guy in the painted crown and flea-bitten fleece that's been hanging around the square outside the gates of the royal palace and spitting out prophecies of doom and condemnation of the Antors is actually Sarth? He survived after all? Of course once everyone realizes who he is, he'll disappear again.

That ain't my daddy.

HAHAHAHA!
