Ring of wizardry

Rules Questions

The description of a ring of wizardry is that it doubles the number of spells for the given level for arcane casters. If a bard/wizard uses a ring of wizardry would it double the spells for both arcane classes?

I would say yes since there is no wording that states you have to choose which arcane class gets the double.

What Frost said above. There is nothing in the items' description stating otherwise.

I don't see why not either, though your GM might have his own take on the question :)

Sovereign Court

If you for some reason make something like a bard/wizard, you probably need all the help you can get.

You'll probably see some table variation since the DM has final say over how these kinds of things work. Ask them before you assume your getting a huge benefit.

Agree, it would be a pity ruling, something to make the poor drooling multiclasser feel a little better. :)

The character in question is a loremaster and a crafter. His main purpose is to be the party know-it-all. His two knowledge focuses are history and arcana so he fits well in rise of the rune lords.

It tends to start with something as awful as Bard / Wizard but when your players get the hang of it you will soon be facing a Wizard / Sorcerer / Ultimate Magus with epic rigs of wizardy and multiple magic item feats.

Trust me...always think ahead. :)

Item still sucks though. It only doubles your base spells, not your bonus spells based on your spellcasting stat. 20k for 4 extra lvl 1 spells is meh. 4 pearls of power cost only 2k ;-)

Um the character is a Bard/Wizard that means double base spells for both classes. I wouldnt say that sucks at all

Well the ring saves you four standered actions what could be the whole combate.

Sure it works for all your arcane classes, I found a ring of wizardry to be quite nice for a bard who has a decent number of spells known but comes short in casting spells per day.

How does have one class help the other to create a know it all character, few bard levels add next to nothing to the knowledge checks, a few wizard levels does not do your character any good either.. I'd go bard all the way with a nice bard archetype personally.

This character was made before all of the other books came out. It was part of the characters backgroud. Before I changed him to all Pathfinder he also was a Maester from 3.5.

Yes. Though only base spells not bonus spells. I use this to great effect on my wiz/sor character.
