Short story or video?
The movie Buba HoTep. If you, or Sharoth who wanted to know as well, care it is on Netflix. :)

Yeah, that's where I watched it, some time back. I recommend the short story, by this soon-to-be Planet Stories author.

Great idea, Lilith!

They're scarier covered in dust. I also like that my players forget which mini's I have. hehehe.

The scariest time is when you finally blow off the dust so we can see what we're fighting.

Well, you didn't really miss me. I'm reloading the thread from time to time. It's a form of escapism, really...or denial...or something.

Enjoy your snooping.

This thread is therapeutic. We should be charging by the hour it's so damn therapeutic. ;)

Sorry your having a piss poor time, but at least it's better than..... well.... I'm sure it's better than something. :P

You're right...but I'm not allowed to type what it's actually better than. Instead, I'll follow that therapeutic comment for a moment.

Frankly, I've realized that many of my problems with my work life come from the fact that I'm "too nice." I've spent the past several years taking on the burdens of other peoples' failings.

As a leader, I've spent too much time beating myself up when my subordinates don't perform as they should. When my personnel have made mistakes, I've tended to assume all the responsibility and repeatedly re-examine all the things I should have done to prevent said failures. I had never really paid attention to how much stress I created and put on myself.

It would be one thing if that "niceness" came from some noble, enlightened paternalism. Unfortunately, I think I simply found it easier to suffer than to hold others accountable. The end result, however, is that my own confidence suffered. Now, my superiors are starting to question my abilities.

This morning, I resolved to put an end to that crud. I'm tired of taking the figurative "shots to the 'nads" for other peoples' inability or unwillingness to do their jobs. I mean, I'll still take the shots, 'cause that's how the military works. The difference is, from now on, others will feel that pain, too. Sometimes, leaders need to let the $&*^ roll down hill.

Anyway...just needed to get that out.

Would she filter the orphan's blood and serve it on ice or serve it warm in a sifter?

Chris & Jeremy: you should just create a dust template to add to those creatures when you use the minis.

I battled hard but it finally won out. Missed most of the excitement this weekend. Fortunately, it decided to leave me alone today.

Well, I can't find John Landsdale's original Bubba Ho-tep anywhere now. It must have gotten taken down since I read it. I even see some disagreement now over whether to call it a short story or a novella.

BTW, I recently discovered that sinus infections can be the cause of migraine-like headaches.

Scarab Sages

I have never seen Bubba Ho-tep. I really should get around to that one day.

Really? I didn't know that.

I have had migraines for most of life, but nothing quite like this weekend's nightmare. I wish it had been infection. Then it would have a direct cause/effect relationship that I could understand. When a migraine comes out of nowhere it is frustrating as there is nothing I could have done to prevent it and the only way to stop it is load up on pain relievers. That is, if I am lucky. Though, surprisingly, Excedrin Extra Strength is a miracle drug in that regard.

As well you should. I enjoyed it overall. Standard Bruce Campbell fare, which is something I generally like.

I found Imitrex extremely effective when I could afford it. At $75 per pill, it's pricey, but what is a day or two of your life worth, anyway?

Loved that movie! Ozzie Davis as JFK was a sublime choice.
Anything with Bruce Cambell is a win, but this may be his best EVAH!
What movie is that?
