Let There be No Doubt that The Who Has Still Got It

natch

Complete disagreement... that was far from their best performance. Sorry I love The Who, but they aren't up to it anymore.

Liberty's Edge

It wasn't too bad.

They haven't had it since the late 70's in my opinion.

Bah

Roger sounded OK, but Pete sounded terrible. Sorry, but Pete just sounds like an old man now. You could hear it on their last CD (Endless Wire), too.

I think I expected too much. I was thoroughly disappointed. Roger looked like he must of used a walker to get on stage and couldn't hit the high notes anymore. Pete's solos were less than inspiring. I thought he sang pretty well for a guy who's almost deaf. Even the much lampooned Springsteen performance was better.

I didn't even watch the Superbowl yesterday. I just got done watching the YouTube video of the performance though, and I honestly don't see how anyone could think they still have it. Daltry's voice was rough and he couldn't hit any of the high notes, and don't get me going on Pete.

IMHO, that performance sucked!!!

Oh, and instead of just playing samples of their greatest hits, they should have chosen 2 (or 3 or 4 if they went with their earlier stuff, I totally could have used My Generation or Can't Explain) songs and actually played the entire song.
