What a flippin' awesome film. Sam Rockwell (not to be confused with Chester Rockwell) was over the top incredible. The special effects were also amazing. This is definitely a thinkers Sci-Fi film. This was also an amazing emotional drama too. Do not miss.

The music was also well placed. Can't say enough good things.

Cool! I'm now extra hungry to see it.

I was thinking about picking this up for the wife. Glad to hear it's a good film. Did you see Sunshine? What did you think about it?

Moon is an excellent film, I just saw it last night. Great piece for scifi fans with a great premise. The plot is great and Sam Rockwell is at the top of his game, it was interesting seeing him act like this considering he was the security officer, Guy, in Galaxy Quest.

Sunshine... *shudder* I was enjoying it until about the midway point. At that point I just had to get up and leave the theater for a bit and vent with a coworker. One had to already put up some suspension of disbelief for the intial setup and then what they did... it's on my would not recommend list.

Instead I'd recommend District 9, this and Moon are my top scifi films of 2009.

Dark Archive

Also agree Moon was a great low-key, mature SF with some solid storytelling, emotional core but also big ideas. No big explosions, crazy robot monsters etc. Had a good sort of Ray Bradbury vibe too it. Highly recommended. Rockwell gives a fantastic performance. I liked District 9 a lot but this would take my vote for best SF film of 2009. As for Sunshine worth the watch, but in the not-bad but not great category.

I absolutely loved Moon.

Wasn't too impressed with the short film by the director that was in the special features though.

I actually liked Sunshine. I think it was a very atmospheric film with an excellent mood setting soundtrack. I especially like the part when he blows the door to the outer bay and walks through the ship activating the manual detachment of the bomb and the final leap of faith to it. One way ticket stuff. Loved it.

I didn't like the added stowaway guy. I think they could have cleverly wrote that out of the story keeping the thing more cerebral. It seems every space film needs a nemesis. It could be said that moon had one too.

Moon is not Sunshine.

I'm late to the game, but this is a fantastic movie. Wanted to give my two cents to push this back to the top of the movies forum in case anyone else out there missed it.

If you missed it, you should see it.

Great science fiction film.

Putting in my vote as well. Excellent film, top notch sci-fi.

Liberty's Edge

Yes it was a good movie that I find I have playing in the back ground sometimes just to have it on.
