I don't know if this highly controvertial show is on where you are in the world, but a new series just started
if it doesn't, i will provide a summary. in essence, it's a VERY dark black-comedy-drama, set on a north Manchester sink estate (the equivalent of "the projects" in an american city)
it doesn't have a "laugh track" - and it contrasts sureel comedy (generally about the central few characters) in an incredebly bleak situation. A lot of the laughs come from either how absurd "the system" is, or from the lengths the characters go to to keep themselves going, and "get one over" on "the system"
the two central families are the Gallaghers (huge tribe of children with an alcoholic father. said father is the show's central character - in D&D terms he would be average int, high wisdom) and the McGuires (married couple, both drug dealers, with two innept sons helping in "the family business"
The show is controvertial as to if it parodies or glamorises the lifestyle of the characters, and the comedy that is there is a classic example of how "comedy is tragedy, just at double-speed"
worth catching if it does show where you are!
