Yes they have been, But I think he means the Blu-Ray version, which are not out and available for pre-order.

Why would you pay more for something and wait for it just cause it's on blue ray?

It's a TV show, it wasn't shot in HD and your not going to get anything useful out of paying an additional $10.

In fact it is not even Wide-screen, It is Full Screen, basically the original format it was originally shown on TV. All you are getting are the old Extra Bonus Features from the DVD set and some new ones.
