early morning blitz!

GO GO GO!!!!!

Over 1000 new posts. Now THAT'S the FAWTL(y):T(owers)NG I know and love.

This weekend, victory. I made it through an all day work blitz(two internet shifts, one field) on Saturday with a quick break in between to take visiting family out to lunch, surprise my mom with a b'day cake AND her birthday and (very late) christmas present. Sunday was the long-awaited Darklight Sisterhood GIRLS ONLY game, where we were all surpsied by one of our players bringing presents of her own for us(I got Capcom Classic Games Collection Volume 1 and VALKYRIE PROFILE FOR DS!!!), and got in several hours of primo gaming and chinese food. The Moment of the Game was when my wife's hatred and fear of spiders came back to haunt her as a giant spider her sorceress faced in battle gave her a love bite(read: Critical Hit) that left her with one hit point. She set it on fire with a spell that nearly killed it, but it STILL kept coming after her. Talk about shades of Devil May Cry! She argued that in real life a spider wouldn't do that, but when I offered to go on a continent spanning trek to bring her back the largest spider I could find so she could immolate it and do some field tests, she suddenly changed her mind. She killed it two rounds later, and now there is some talk of her character taking a flaming spider for her sigil. 'Twas an action packed adventure, and although the party is half alive after facing a pack of Ettercaps and Giant Spiders and finally having those pesky Pathfinders that have been chasing them throughout the woods catch them in an ambush, they cannot say it was boring....

And that was my weekend. What did everyone else do?

Well, Moorluck made plans to sell his liver, in order to pay for Solnes' birthday present, not knowing that Solnes had decided not to celebrate her birthday because of last year's penguin incident. Meanwhile, Taig was in a desperate struggle for survival against the dark forces of Sebastian, while Aberzombie sat back waiting to scoop up the brainnsss of the loser for his lunch. On the other side of the boards, Patrick fought against a manaical man who mistakenly thought of himself as a bad-ass bear.....

So - typical weekend, then?

Friday night I watched John Carpenter's The Thing on BluRay - a brand new copy my wife had ordered for me off Amazon.

I spent most of Saturday running my players through Masks of the Living God, and Saturday night I starter to read the latest collection of REH stories - A bunch of his El Borak and desert adventure stories.

Sunday morning, the wife and I went to Home Depot for a consult on our kitchen remodeling, which went very well - the material cost, so far, was not as bad as we expected. After our appointment, we went to P.F. Chang's for lunch - Mmmmm...Beef a la Sichuan. Then it was grocery shopping, followed by home and clotheswashing. Watch an NCIS marathon for the rest of the night, mixed with more reading.

Did Aberzombie buy Moorluck's liver for some good eats?

There's a rumor to that effect, but I can neither confirm nor deny...

Then I'm assuming we shouldn't read too much into the fact that he is now on the list awaiting a liver transplant?

Did he sell the liver or just wake up in a bathtub full of ice one day?

Not at all. Nope. Nothing to see here. Move along people.

Hmmm, a list you say? For people who want body parts/organs? Mmmmm......

Wow, you moved quickly. I see you are now on the list awaiting... Let's see... A kidney, a liver, a spleen, a stomach, a heart, some intestines, and... a brain?????

Wow, Aberzombie, I had no idea your situation was so dire.

Well, I didn't want to say anything. Didn't want you folks to worry needlessly. I'll be fine.

I am severely disappointed in you all. I announced a posting blitz right before I left for work, and this is it? DMFreehold would have done well, if he'd only broken that long post into many short posts. Also, I give the zombie a pass since he recently watched the Thing on blu-ray, as did I. But the rest of you? VERY disappointed....
And don't even think of "I lost my liver" as an excuse.

Does making a solar system mobile for my kid that I promised to have done like three weeks ago count as a good excuse? I mean, I know it's not as bad as losing a liver...;P

Hmm. That sounds like a good deed that is both highly personal, future-oriented, and cosmic. Pass.

Meh. I'm been out of the house since 8'ish this mornin'. Carpoolin' with the little lady since her car is getting worked on. Since we live on the far east side of Cols and she works on the west side, I'm hanging out at the internet cafe inside B&N near OSU campus. She suggested that I should go to Panera instead so I won't get distracted by the mountain of books. Syeah! Well, and other kinds of eye-nertaiment.

I forgot to mention; when I was here last Friday afternoon, some #%@#% nicked my front bumper ... on my NEW car. Once she gets her car finished, then I'm going to get that sucker fixed. Maybe it can just get the dent knocked out. *shrug* @@%$#%!!$

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it, Professor. :P

That sucks. Always here if you want to vent or anything. I've been there, so I'm not expecting you to automatically cheer up or anything. Just offering to be a sympathetic ear if you ever need.

Ugh. And now I have to run to Target. The kid hasn't got a single pencil that doesn't need to be sharpened and neglected to tell me that his pencil sharpener is broken. *rolls eyes*

I was escorting Liberty Prime to the Jefferson Memorial so we could pummel the Enclave, and take back the purifier. All so the Wasteland can have fresh clean water. :D
