I hear ya. According to one of the posters on there, if you believe abortion is wrong you're moving the country backwards, not forward. It's hard to believe there are people who think that if you don't agree with them you have to be a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal.
One of the reasons I wish they'd just shut stuff like that down. It can only get worse. But I won't hold my breath to see that happen.

I have come to expect that type of nonsense from certain liberal/atheist posters these days.

If I go over there it will definitely get worse. I'm pretty close to blowing my stack and letting a few individuals have it. *sigh* I gotta learn how to relax.

Hey, I may resemble that remark.

I knew I should have gone with 'roids instead of rainbow sprinkles.
If you want to keep things moving forward, simply agree to disagree. I found one post on there particularly enlightening regarding the loggerheads people come to on this topic. So long as we don't get in each others faces and/or do our best to rise above our baser desires, this messageboard will continue to thrive.

Actually I've never really seen you post much on politics or religion...

I'm not into chick pee, dude. No judgements, man. Just not my bag.

I don't have a problem with people who think differently than me. I have a problem with people who decide they have to be asinine towards me because I disagree with them. That's what caused my last blowup a few weeks ago.

I really don't come here to debate. I'll toss my $0.02 here and there and just generally agree to disagree. I don't think anything I say on here is going to cause a mass revelation to sway people to shift their way of thinking to the opposite direction. People have to come to certain conclusions on their own through experience and contemplation.
Besides, I'm not the militant type ... they annoy me just the same as the evangelists who use their book as a weapon.

Well said, that's pretty much how I feel these days [although certain people from both sides aggravate the hell out of me sometimes].

Heh heh. I just got off the phone with a client in Nawhlins. He had exactly the type of accent I try to use in the Untitled thread, and he said "Ah tell you whut" about 5 times in a 4 minute conversation. It's probably not very remarkable to some people, but I don't get to hear that very often.
In Texas you get to hear it every day. When they say that just say "what?" back to them and see their face expression. :)

I dated a girl in college who liked to eat at Indian, Middle Eastern and Ethiopian restaurants all the time. Some of the stuff was gross but some was very good and I'm glad I can say I tried a lot of it.

Once in a while I'll go for a gyro salad, yum!

Now Indian food, I don't mind. Maybe it's the large dollops of sour cream that goes into a falafel that dissuades me from trying it out. Then again, I'd have to go out of my way to get to a Greek restaurant around here. Then again, the same goes for Indian food. Which is why I don't eat it too often. Now if they had Indian food with the same convenience as Chinese food take-outs...

Hmm. Where I get it they use tahini, not sour cream. But they may vary it.
Indian food I liked, especially when curry was involved. Unfortunately, my digestive track had a different opinion of the curry, and I've been afraid to eat any more of it.

what is falafel
It's basically mashed up chickpeas (and some herbs, I suspect) that have been fried, and are generally served in a pita with some veggies and a sauce (which varies according to regional cuisines). Apparently it originated in Egypt, but is popular in North Africa, Arab countries, Israel, Turkey, and Greece (and probably other places as well). It's delicious.

what is falafel
fried chickpea patties often served in pita bread as a sandwich with either hummus or yogurt dressing depending on whether you're eating at a place that serves middle eastern or greek food. Also often available as an entree with hummus at many middle eastern restaurants, especially lebanese cuisine.
Edit: double ninja'd. :)

Not familiar with tahini (?)
And I have to agree with you about curry. I try to get it as a 'medium' on the scale of degrees of 'hotness' or else my digestive tract will combust.
