Again, I agree completely. However, I honestly don't have the time to whip up mini-adventures for each and every level of play. If I can say, "The bard's ability requires a DC 40 Fort save or else the target dies, these CR 20 monsters all have less than a 15% chance of survival," then that should be good enough. What happens if my bard player doesn't use the ability very often in the playtest and the problem doesn't show up?

What the Paizo folks are saying is that they've got that style of numerical accounts covered. They don't need us all to try to test each class at all 20 levels. Just insert something appropriate into something you already have planned out and report what happens.

That's playtesting.

I just wish that they would respond to playtest reports with some sort of acknowledgment that they are reading them.

Jason is reading pretty much all of them, and other folks are reading some of them. But none of them have time to get involved in discussions and debates. We're hearing what you're saying. (And if you were following the Core Rulebook playtest, you'll know that the community made a lot of impact on the final product...)

Oh, I never thought that they weren't reading them, but thank you for the reassurance. I can see how they would be really busy, what with all the feedback and the holidays coming up.

What CAN be done with a class is always at war with what IS done with a class. Game design is a crucial balance between the two. Some people think that, all other things being equal, the latter should outweigh the former when making a decision.

I am one of them.

I know many others are not.

I wonder what Paizo's take on it is? Both? :)

I was there! I seen it!

The three or four threads that spawned the final adjustments to CMB had little or no Paizo staffers posting in them, and yet they had a very notable effect on the final product. So for those of you who feel your good idea may be ignored, take heart! Non-response is not equal to disregard.
