Witch, Hex: Tongues


Round 2: Summoner and Witch


First, sorry for the english, I'm French.

Well, I read the hex of the witch named Tongues, and I think it is very short.

At the 20th level, is duration was 2 minutes... for a 20th level power ?

And before, at the first level, 6 seconds. Who can know when it's good to use this power to understand the good part of a conversation ?

I think it was better to increase the duration to 1 minute by level.

It was quite understandable...

And you are right.. the duration is way too short in retrospect. It will be changed.. probably to 1 minute per level. Or possibly even 10 minutes per level, but I need to take a close look.

I think it should be 10 minutes/level. While tongues has its uses, it's verbal communication only. If it gave you the ability to read all languages, I think it could develop into an issue, but I don't see it creating balance issues as is.


Another vote for 10 minutes/level.

but its a hex that's free action to activate and unlimited uses per day. even at 1 round per level, at 1st level you can continually use it every noncombat round and keep up with a conversation.

its just a very utilitarian hex, where most others have a combat use.

I vote for 10 minutes/level too, besides, it's not a figthing power instead many of other hex. Better duration make this hex more attractive.

Considering that a 17th level monk gets this ability all the time, I don't think 10m/lvl is too much.
