Sample Eidolons

Round 2: Summoner and Witch

I am wondering can summon have more heads and so many bite attacks. Was thinking a hydra kind of eidolon

Decided to run on back and re-level my guy to 20th level to see how he'd compare...

So, an average damage of 306 per round (considering everything hits). I'm certain a fighter at 20 doesn't have an extra 20 natural armor hanging around-- meaning if he's in +5 full plate, I'm swinging with a +36 at a 35 AC. Honestly. (or a 44 if he's shield focused, but let's not focus on that!) With the added bonus of having above 50 AC, solid saves, 31 SR, 10 DR/lawful, over 200 HP, evasion and the ability to haste himself for 10 rounds per day. Not bad for what I ended up with!

I totally forgot about the dogde bonus to AC granted by the Dodge feat, and the increase in base speed (and subsequently, all other speeds) due to the Limbs(legs) evolution.

So, the complete (and correct) statistics should be:

Speed: 30 ft, Climb 30 ft, Fly 170 ft (average)
AC: 37 (-1 size, +1 Dodge, +9 Dex, +18 Natural), Touch 19, Flat-Footed 27

Put this with the Summoner in a different thread, but thought I should add it here.

Hallucinigenia- A charming lovecraftian horror from the Brugess shale. Imagine an oversized worm with spikes on the top and tentacles for legs.

Primary role? Charging making his 10 attacks and killing casters before retreating behind the tank and making lunge full attacks with his tentacles from 15' away.

As more evo points are added, more tentacles and size increases. Maybe Dazzling display with the tentacles for a feat to demoralize his enemies after eating their caster.

I left the feats unassigned (the Dodge tree looks promising, and Improved Initiative might be useful, but they're not crucial to the concept), and I didn't bother with the melee attack calculations (so crass!).

Not a combat monster by any stretch of the imagination, nor even a particularly exceptional scout, but the Lucky Snake still manages to be awfully nice to have around.

Meet my little friend :)

This is the guy I'd take with me if I wanted to make a sneaky summoner. I didn't bother statting up the summoner, you can make him however you want.

I envision this little guy as a naga type, small, can easily squeeze through small openings with a small pair of arms that fold up by his side.

So basically, base form is serpentine and small. His four free class skills are Disable Device, Acrobatics, Sleight of Hand, and Escape Artist

Just out of curiosity how are you making it small size?

And bite is a primary attack and tail slap is a secondary, how do they have the same attack bonus?

It's in the document, under Eidelons. You can make them small or medium at start.

Base Forms
Each eidolon has one of three base forms that determines its starting size, speed, AC, attacks, and ability scores. All natural attacks are made using the eidolon’s full base attack bonus unless otherwise noted.
Eidolon attacks add the eidolon’s Strength modifier to the damage roll, unless it is its only attack, in which case it adds 1-1/2 times its Strength modifier. These base forms also note any free evolutions that base form possesses. The bonuses from these free evolutions are already factored into the starting statistics.
Alternatively, any one of these base forms can be used to make a Small eidolon. If the eidolon is Small, it gains a +2 bonus to its Dexterity score. It also takes a –4 penalty to its Strength and a –2 penalty to its Constitution. It also gains a +1 size bonus to its AC and attack rolls, a –1 penalty to its CMB and CMD scores, a +2 bonus on its Fly skill checks, and a +4 bonus on its Stealth skill checks. Reduce the damage of all of its attacks by one step (1d6 becomes 1d4, 1d4 becomes 1d3). If this choice is made, the eidolon can be made Medium whenever the summoner can change the eidolon’s evolution pool (which causes it to lose these modifiers for being Small).

Thanks I completely missed that in my read through, any ideas on how he got his primary and secondary to be the same?

Oops, That was my bad. Slipped through by mistake. That's what I get for making an eidolon at 6 am after an all nighter!

Brian.

Oh no problem at all, I didn't mean to call you out so apologies for harping on your mistake, those two things stood out to me and since the first was something I missed I figured maybe I missed something that could turn a secondary into a primary,

No worries.

Anyway, anybody else find that while they are making up Eidola of various shapes and forms that some of your creations would make just proper creatures to inhabit a dungeon/world/campaign?

Very much so, oddly enough my own concept was similar to yours, (flying serpent with arms) not as focused on combat but made to help suppliment the Summoner in her 'primary' profession as a ~cough~ dealer of contracts.

Eidolon helps with the magic circle / protection while I call in the planar binding and help... facilitate deals with otherworldy powers.

Being unsure of how transmogrify actually works, I'm somewhat banking on at least being able to modify the minimum 3 points needed to change the Magic Circle VS X as a SLA.
