Are you an editor? Do you love roleplaying and Paizo products? Do you live in the Seattle area? Then click the link!

Darn lack of appropriate degree and actual experience in editing.

Best of luck to those who apply!

Paizo Employee Director of Brand Strategy

You guys are locationist! Moving to Seattle to take a full time position is one thing, but now you're going and tempting the unemployed among us to move there for contract work!? *sigh*

Yup! And this is all I wanta hear out of ya'll who haven't joined we chosen ones over here in Seatown. Applications with text that even smells like "I don't live anywhere near Seattle, buuuuuuut" are going to get out and out ignored. This is a temporary position and we're not going to drag someone across the world just to strand them on our doorstep a few months later. Harsh, perhaps, but fair.

Yeah. I was just whining.

The dragon hurt my feelings with its acidic post.

Could I live in a cardboard box in the back of the warehouse? Unemployment down here sucks, so I'm only half-joking.

What kind of editing do you guys do?!

Meh. I'd love to try it, but I fall in the 'too damn far away' category.

I am an editor and professional copywriter but live in PA. What about remote editing? ;-)

For a couple of months, some folks would be happy to live on a couch to get this experience on their CV.

That's the weight of a raw copy of the PFRPG rules. They are packed raw and then cure during the shipping process to arrive in the lean and ready-to-eat format we see.

I'm an engineer livigin in Philly. Do you think I have a shot?

Yes, based on Wes's post above, I think you should totally spend several hours revising your resume and see how it goes. Good luck!

I've already put my house on the market and quit my job so I can be available for this one.

Does changing my CV to remove references to astrophysics and software engineering make me an 'editor'? Hmm...

No! Embrace the physicist with in! I myself am studying to provide Paizo with solutions to complex quantum mechanical and pure mathematical editing questions.

I'm sure they arise all the time, what with the various 'cores' and 'polarity reversers' paizo has attached to its side.

Paizo is a rocket ship right?

Not an option. We move too fast and stay too fluid to have anyone off site. Sorry man.

Silver Crusade

Is there any way Paizo could just pay me to make snarky one-liners on the messageboards? It really plays to my strengths.

Paizo Employee Chief Creative Officer, Publisher

Sure. You now officially have the same salary as our interns.

Congrats!

Silver Crusade

Awesome. Now I just need the fancy messageboard tag that indicates I'm a Paizo employee.

Celestial Healer: Snark at Large?

Let's pretend I have the ability to create a time-space warp to transport myself to Seattle, so that I can ask this question:

What's roughly the pay range for this position?

With space warp, you're actually moving Seattle to You! :)

In my case, a temporary stint in the Seattle area could help my long-term plans considerably. I have a friend in the area who would probably let me live on his couch for a few months.

[wish list] like coming up with a Pathfinder version of d20 Apocalypse? [/wish list]

The kind that sometimes is asked to help move boxes of books or similar things; once upon a time when we had big shipments, the entire company pitched in to get things moved into or out of the warehouse, for example. We've grown a lot since then and haven't had to do something like that again for a while... but never say never!

Funny - that's my middle name - "Fast-and-Fluid". Plus I'm creative, versatile and diligent. On top of that, I can write cool campaigns like the one home game I ran where demon blood was being packaged and distributed as wine across the country...won't that get me an interview? ;-)

Doh...two out of three ain't bad!

As ever,

Is this just going to be another bug hunt, sir?

Paizo Employee Director of Brand Strategy

Anyone have a couch I can sleep on for a while? If so, I'll show at Paizo's door with resume in hand.

Liberty's Edge

My mandatory retirement is February 2022, and I might consider moving slightly south of Alaska...

Will you guys hold the job 'til then...?

CourtFool wrote:

All we know is that there's still no contact with the warehouse, and that a xenomorph may be involved.

HEY!!! Did I say this position in filled!? Keep those resumes coming people! I planned to wrap this up in the next week or so here and have seen a nasty drop off in resumes. SO if you live in the Redmond area and still want to throw your hat in the ring, there's still time!!!

The Exchange

No however I am half a continent away.
