Ok, here is a question that might require the upper bosses of Pathfinder. What I'm looking at is doing a conversion for Kalamar
where one uses the core books of PFRPG instead of 3.5. It would be
a stand alone product with only general reference to Kalamar. Is
there anything I should look into before doing this or make special
note of if producing such an item?

Dsiclaimer: I am not a lawyer.
A lot of that would depend on whether it was done as a fan and or done for money. Dark Sun was updated to 3.5 and they(people that did it) did not get in trouble for it.
You may also have to contact whoever owns the rights Kalamar depending on exactly what you are trying to do.
If nobody official answers you here I would contact customer service. I got an answer in 24 hours about making official stuff for Paizo from Vic.
Here is their email-->customer.service@paizo.com

Hiya.
My understanding is that Kalamar is not OGL. That doesn't mean it wont work but you need to talk to the copyright holders.
I think Kalamar is still there setting for 4e so they may not be able to have new products in the 3x line.

They can do whatever they want...they never signed the dreaded "GSL" or any other 'contract' with WotC.
They put out the 'revised' 4e setting for two reasons, IMHO: First was that some people were itching to try 4e, but really love Kalamar. Second, to show that a company doesn't have to submit to the GSL in order to make something "Compatible with 4e D&D".
That said, there really is almost nothing 'game-rulesy' in the campaign guide anyway...you could use it with just about any other system and not have to spend loads of time 'converting'. As for Kalamar, head on over to the Kenzer & Co. forums and ask Dave about it, he'll give you the run down (Dave is David Kenzer...oh, and he *is* a lawyer).
